A young runaway escapes her miserable foster home and takes refuge in a nearby rancher's barn. When she forms a bond with a young orphaned filly, the rancher agrees to provide the girl shelter in exchange for her help with the animal. The more the runaway and the rancher learn about each other, the further it takes them on a journey that will ultimately alter the course of their lives, forever.
