Until I Met You

In 1929, a young Victoria lives in Parácuaro, Michoacan and is about to be engaged to the wealthy Manuel, but when she meets Gabriel, her world is turned upside down. She has to pick between following her heart, or heeding the requests of her mother, Doña Brigida, who wishes her daughter would marry into a better life.

Gabriel sets fire to a large portion of the Parácuaro's fields because he suffers from a mental illness. Gabriel is sent to an asylum in Mexico City while Victoria faces the rage of the town. Their humble economic situation becomes alarming, as no one wants to give her work and no one feels sorry for a woman with six children to feed.

Victoria and her family arrive at the city of Juárez in search of a better life. The modern frontier is very different from the Michoacán countryside, Victoria needs to quickly adapt in order to save her children.

The loss of Alberto hurts Victoria who then manages to get him back and promises to never be separated again, until life shows her that this decision is not necessarily in her hands.

Sad and alone, Alberto spends his days waiting for his mother to visit him in the court system, while discovering the value of friendship and his passion for singing.

Outside the court system, Alberto enjoys life until he returns to Paracuaro, where his family awaits him with everything, but the intention of supporting him on his dream of becoming a singer.

Alberto looks for an opportunity in Mexico, where he meets people with the same artistic mentality and who encourage him, but they can not be the key to his achievements, so he returns to Juárez and takes his first steps towards stardom: El Noa Noa and the Television.

When the brief success of Adán Luna (Juan Gabriel) seems to go into a tailspin, a new opportunity comes to his life and prompts him to travel again to Mexico City to record an album.

Alberto's return to the capital that promises a rapid rise to fame, but the singer must still learn that in the music industry and in life he can not be so confident.

The unjust incarceration of Alberto in the feared prison of Lecumberri has put his life in danger. He must rush to get released before fate plays another trick on him.

Alberto has regained his freedom and is ready to finally emerge in the music scene, but first he must close a circle that has tormented him for a long time.

Alberto lives a successful life even after the setbacks during beginning of his career, while he reconnects with his past and discovers details that make him want to get closer to his mother.

Alberto discovers that fame was not as he imagined it, so he decides to become the most beloved Spanish-speaking singer-songwriter: The Divo of Juárez.
