Solo adventurer Kayden Kleinhans arrives in Sri Lanka to begin his epic bicycle journey through Sri Lanka, India and Tibet. He assembles his Surly Long-Haul Trucker in Colombo and then catches a train to the Northern city of Jaffna.

With 503 kilometers under his belt, solo adventurer Kayden Kleinhans’s second leg of his 8 month, 8000km Indian Odyssey has him heading south through Sri Lanka to Matale and into Kandy where he takes a well-earned pit stop to do some running repairs and maintenance on his new equipment.

Kayden Kleinhans’s third leg has him packing up the Mistress of Mischief and 50 kilograms of equipment and boarding a short flight from Colombo, Sri Lanka to Madurai, India, 24-hours before his visa expires.

Kayden Kleinhans’s fourth leg of his 8000km, 8-month Indian Odyssey has him travel northward from Kochi to the city of Goa.

Kayden heads northwards to Mumbai along the west coast of India. Multiple ferry crossings, increasing heat, beautiful campsites and ancient forts lead Kayden into the vast metropolis of Mumbai just in time for Holi Festival of Colours.

Kayden meets a guy in a bar who advises him to change his route to miss both the the monsoons and the snow melts in the Himalayas. He decides to head east and leaves the coast behind, but first, he has to navigate his way out of the madness which is Mumbai, which proves to be a major challenge.

Leaving Lonar Lake, Kaden makes his way through the heart of India. Pushing through the poorer interior he experiences extreme heat and gets sick and seeks medication.

Kayden arrives in the very congested city of Varanassi, the spiritual capital of India and is on the banks of the ‘Holy’ River Ganges. He witnesses various spiritual ceremonies, and then prepares his equipment for the long trip north out of the hustle and bustle of Varanassi.

Leaving Lumbini, Kayden pushes west flanking the Indian border making his way to Bardiya National Park, where he does a foot safari trying to see if he can have an encounter with a Bengal Tiger.

We start on Kayden on a mountain pass having a hearty meal of rice and beans, as he prepares to tackle the last 500km’s of his journey.
