Little House On The Prairie (Series)

After the mill closes, Charles is unable to pay off his debt at the mercantile. Charles must take on several jobs at the same time to make ends meet. Meanwhile, Mary gets a job to help the family, while Laura takes on the chores at home.

Mary (Melissa Sue Anderson) is beginning to do worse in school because she has a hard time reading the blackboard. When she needs to wear glasses, the other school children begin to tease her. So, Mary purposely loses her glasses.

Laura goes into a haunted house when Nellie dares her to do it. She becomes a friend of the old man that lives there, Mr. Pike. Laura learns that Mrs. Pike died years ago, and she helps Mr. Pike cope with the death of his wife.

It's time for baseball! After losing badly last year, Walnut Grove expects to win against the town of Sleepy Eye with their star pitcher, Mr. Mumford. People in Walnut Grove are so confident that they are going to win, they place bets on the game.

Mrs. Oleson doesn't want the Ingalls children to beat her children on a leaf-gathering project. Thus, the Olesons go with the Ingalls on their camping trip. The Olesons manage to get into trouble out in the wild, causing a miserable time for all.

Laura and Miss Snyder are both trying to get someone to ask them to the spring dance. But, the boys they want to invite them don't seem interested in going. Laura decides to try and trick Henry into asking her by making him jealous. Will it work?

When the Ingalls' neighbor, the widow Julia Sanderson, finds out that she will die soon, she asks Charles to find a good home for her three children. After Julia dies, Charles has a hard time finding someone who will take all three of the children.

After their mother's death, Carl, Alicia and Jason Sanderson live with the Ingalls until they can find a permanent home. Charles is doing all he can to keep the three children together, but it's looking impossible to do so.

Charles and Mr. Hansen build a bank in Walnut Grove. The banker is Mr. Sprague, a cold and heartless man. Laura becomes friends with Mr. Sprague while out fishing, not knowing who he really is. Mr. Sprague starts to believe she has ulterior motives.

While fishing in a stream, Laura and her friend Jonah stumble upon "gold." They spend several weeks trying to pick up all of the gold in the stream. And when they bring it to the bank, they learn that all that glitters is not gold.

The school children have saved up some money to buy the Reverend a present. They give the money to Mary to buy the present, but Laura convinces her to buy something that they could sell with the hope that they could buy him a much better gift.

Mr. and Mrs. Edwards adopt John Sanderson. John is a lot more interested in books than farming or hunting. Mr. Edwards tries to make him different and buys him a gun for his birthday. In response, John gives him a letter explaining his feelings.

Jason is a young man who is very interested in new inventions and electricity. Laura offers to help him, but soon both Laura and Nellie are vying for his attention. One day, Laura invites Jason to dinner, and he accepts, sparking jealousy in Nellie.

Mary (Melissa Sue Anderson) is excited when she has the chance to participate in a state-wide math competition. The problem is that Charles can't afford to have her go, but perhaps the town will rally to help Mary out.

Charles and his girls go on a trip, while Caroline stays home. Caroline ends up getting a scratch on her leg form a rusty nail, causing a dangerous infection. Alone and scared, she rides out the fever and looks to Doc Baker to help her.

Mary, Laura, and Mr. Edwards' adopted son, Carl, go to a train station, but when they wander into a caboose, they find that their lives are in danger when the car breaks loose and becomes a runaway. Can Charles catch up before it's too late?

When the children at the school cause so much trouble that Miss Beadle can no longer control them, the town council decides that she is the problem and hires a new teacher. And the new teacher, Mr. Applewood, takes an instant dislike to Laura.

Due to the price of grain dropping on their crops, Charles, Mr. Edwards, and two other men take a job that involves handling and transporting explosives. They must deal with many things along the road, including danger and prejudice.

Charles takes a job refinishing woodwork for Widow Thurman in exchange for a nice set of china to give to Caroline. To keep his secret, Charles tells the girls and Caroline different stories, and they being to suspect he is having an affair

America's Centennial celebration in town is threatened when taxes are increased. But even though he loses his land because he can't pay the new taxes, a Russian immigrant teaches the people of Walnut Grove why America in the best place in the world.

Hoping to escape the ghosts that haunt him and lead a normal life, the son of Mrs. Whipple returns to Walnut Grove after serving in the Civil War. But he discovers that the mental and physical pain he's suffered is not so easy to lay aside.

After a tornado ruins his crops, Charles decides to sell the land and return to the Big Woods of Wisconsin…all without consulting his family. Can the family change his mind, or is Charles prepared to leave the little house on the prairie forever?
