After Christian's Christening, The family gets ready to have one last Sunday dinner at Curtis and Ella's house. Unbeknownst to the family, as they prepare the meal, Calvin has been shot and is laying on C.J. and Janine's floor.

Curtis is stunned to find out that he's being forced into retirement. Calvin finds out that Miranda is missing. Claretha returns without her Prince-husband and moves in with Curtis and Ella.

As Calvin fights for his life in the hospital, Ella has had enough of Miranda's behavior, and Curtis and C.J. meet with the police to begin searching for the perpetrator.

The Payne family waits for Calvin to wake up, but the fight isn't over. Curtis decides not to move.

During a gun buyback program at the Help Center, Ella diffuses a potentially fatal situation, and Calvin works up the courage to speak about his recent experience being shot.
