Takt Op. Destiny

It's been 4 years after Sagan Armistice, the cease-fire agreement between humans and D2s. Music has become taboo and no one will play a melody. In the desolate United States, a young man who knows nothing about music hears the sound of a piano. The conductor is a black-haired man, Asahina. His music attracts powerful D2s and a sword-wielding girl, Destiny.

It all started 10 years ago. The rampaging D2s on the street, the bloodsoaked concert hall, the Boston Tragedy. Asahina's father, the famous conductor Kenji Asahina, was one of the victims. Back to the current timeline, a fatherless young man is deeply engrossed in his piano performance. It's as if he's merging his fury with his music.

Cosette has turned into Destiny, a Musicart. Destiny claims her existence is to eliminate all D2s. Takt grabs the baton from Destiny and unleashes his power as the Conductor for the first time. Two persons appear in front of them, Lenny and Titan. They are a Conductor and a Musicart respectively under New York Symphonica, an organization fighting D2s.

As they travel to New York, Asahina and Destiny receive formal combat training from Lenny and Titan. However, Asahina and Destiny still fail to harmonize. Lenny's old acquaintance, Jonathan, appears. He brings the group to Las Vegas.

After parting ways with Lenny and Titan, Asahina continues his journey through the blazing desert. He intercepts a train that is attacked by D2. Alighting from the train is a silver-armored Musicart with a dazzling smile. The man with two Musicarts, Schindler, claims to be the Chief Conductor of New York Symphonica.

Asahina arrives in a small town. There are no young people in there, only the elderly. Anna and Destiny are saved by them. Strolling alone in the city, Asahina picks up a tune from a dilapidated bar. It is music, undoubtedly.

Anna and Destiny witness the destruction of a town on their journey. The houses and the citizens are attacked by the awakened D2s. The world is slowly reverting back to pre-Sagan Armistice time. As D2s continue to wreak havoc, something catches Asahina's attention. Staring at a blank music sheet, Asahina plays notes frantically in an attempt to create something.

D2s begin to wake. Asahina's hometown is under attack. Cosette dies. Schindler is the mastermind. To save this battered world, Schindler wants to sacrifice the lowly human beings. Upon learning the truth of Cosette's death, Asahina faces Schindler with rage but he is injured by Hell. Seeing blood spill from Asahina, Destiny feels something she has never felt before.

Asahina arrives in New York and meets Anna's sister, Charlotte, who works for the Department of Technology Advancement in New York Symphonica. Charlotte begins checking on the incomplete Musicart that is Destiny. Anna notices something unusual about Asahina. The mark on his right arm is growing bigger and seems to be on its way to consume Asahina's body.

Lenny recalls his past and the faces of the people he holds dear. He remembers what has made him persevere until this day. Lenny heads to the rendezvous point he agreed with Titan and decides to tell Asahina and Destiny the truth. However, an unexpected guest greets him.

The giant Black Night Siderites draw closer as Sagan hums. Growing incessantly like a tree, the meteorites slowly consume New York Symphonica. Sagan is finally making his move. Looking at this bizarre scene, Asahina and Destiny know that Anna and Charlotte are still within the New York Symphonica.

Fate can often be cruel. Yet regardless of how great the misfortune is, we will face our fate with courage. And so, we will continue to fight. In the end, I'll have my answer. All right. It's time for the performance. Let us grab fate by its throat. ~Excerpt from His Notebook
