1938. Happy to leave the Spanish Civil War behind, a movie troupe travels to Hitler’s Berlin to shoot an international production at UFA studios. They soon discover that they have escaped one war only to end up in another, and that the hospitality of Joseph Goebbels, the German Minister of Propaganda, is tied to his personal interest in their young actress Macarena Granada (Penélope Cruz).
