Children Of The Cult

Hope, Celeste, and Verity were born into a doomsday cult in the 1970s. The women recount their parents' stories of joining the Children of God cult, their devotion to its leader, and the beginnings of their own quest for justice against their abusers.

It's the 1980s, and Celeste, Hope, and Verity are young children growing up in the cult, but in different corners of the globe. By now, founder David Berg is on the run from the authorities and contacting his followers through letters and audiotapes.

By the early 1990s, ex-cult member Sandy blows the whistle on the cult in Australia, and authorities across the globe close in, trying to rescue the children. Meanwhile, inside the cult, the girls are now teens, and they're starting to rebel.

A disappointing court ruling sparks an exodus of members born into the Children of God cult, including Hope, Celeste, and Ricky. Life on the outside is tough, with some ex-members spiraling into prostitution, drugs, and for one man - thoughts of revenge.

Hope and Verity attempt to gain convictions in the UK against abusers from within the Children of God. A Sergeant from Police Scotland faces immense challenges locating Hope's abusive stepfather, and incredibly, Celeste receives a letter from her abuser.
