The Devil Judge

After a mystery plague's disaster is quelled in two years, Korea's government prepares an unprecedented trial judged by the people. Presiding is Kang Yo-han, a judge famed for ruthless justice. But is justice his true aim? Ga-on, a new associate judge, starts to doubt the man everyone reveres...

Judge Yo-han yawns before a weeping victim. As everyone cheers his rulings, Ga-on's distrust of him only deepens. Yo-han invites him into his strange yet dazzling world, and a taut tug-of-war begins between the unreadable Yo-han and the Ga-on determined to read him.

A bombing at the judge's chambers shocks the whole nation. Is it terrorism, or a warning to Yo-han? Still his race toward justice goes on. What is the next trial he's preparing? Meanwhile, Ga-on, who passed out saving Yo-han, wakes in a lonely mansion, before a girl whose eyes mix anger and grief.

Yo-han's brother resembled Ga-on, and Yo-han may have killed him. Ji Young-ok's shocking claims deepen Ga-on's confusion, and with Su-hyun he digs into Yo-han's past. Meanwhile, having failed to drop charges against her son Young-min, Cha Kyung-hee rages and seeks any way to save him...

I'm the one deceiving him, so why am I the one confused? As Ga-on settles naturally into life at the mansion, Yo-han keeps seeing his late brother in him. Meanwhile, with her son Young-min flogged and her standing shaken, Cha Kyung-hee attempts a secret deal to fight Yo-han's trials...

Seon-ah's true identity is finally revealed. Mocking Yo-han's claim that he has nothing to lose, she delivers a cruel warning. Just how much does she know about him? Meanwhile, while Yo-han is held, Ga-on spends time with Elijah and stumbles, in an unexpected place, on a clue to Yo-han's dark past.

Admitting his crimes before the nation, Yo-han declares war on the state, enraging the Foundation's power brokers. Yet Seon-ah stays strangely calm, as if she foresaw it. What is she plotting? Meanwhile, Ga-on appeals to the world-weary Yo-han about justice, and Yo-han takes him off somewhere...

Ga-on is stunned to confirm a prisoner was swapped. For the first time, Yo-han honestly shares his own wounds. Having seen every belief he held denied, Ga-on finds himself sympathizing with Yo-han. Will he take Yo-han's hand and help stop the powerful from running amok?

Like a hyena toying with its prey, Yo-han watches Seon-ah circle the panel. He dislikes her, yet the smile she strangely gives him hides a loneliness. How can their bond be defined? Meanwhile, Ga-on chooses to stand with the Yo-han he once thought evil, and they set out to punish the wicked elite.

Behind Jukchang, thought a mere attention-seeking YouTuber, hid a formidable figure. Shocked, Yo-han and Ga-on decide to put Jukchang in the dock as their new defendant. But catching a man shielded by police is no easy task, and with Su-hyun's help the two set out to hunt him down.

When Cha Kyung-hee uncovers the past Seon-ah kept hidden, Seon-ah is consumed by betrayal toward Yo-han, who leaked it, and Cha makes her an offer she can't refuse. Meanwhile, as if he knew, Yo-han suddenly invites Seon-ah to his mansion, wearing the warm smile she had so long wished to receive.

In the room of the dead-by-suicide Cha Kyung-hee, Ga-on suddenly runs into Su-hyun. Crushed by shock and betrayal, she tells him never to seek her out again. Meanwhile, with Cha gone just as she wished, Seon-ah begins to believe Yo-han is truly on her side. But what is he really thinking?

Yo-han collapses, injured, after losing K, while Ga-on falls into danger helping the people of Hyeongsan-dong. Unable to reach each other, can they get back alive? With their crisis, Korea seems to slide back toward the emergency the virus once caused. What are Seon-ah and the Foundation plotting?

Having lost Su-hyun and any reason to live, Ga-on finds his sense of purpose restored by Yo-han. Together they begin preparing the trial to punish Jukchang, yet even side by side they seem to be thinking of different things. Can Yo-han and Ga-on's trial go ahead without trouble?

Ga-on's expose halts the Jukchang trial; he believes he did right, yet his heart aches. Wounded again by someone he trusted, Yo-han too acts unlike himself. Meanwhile, the Foundation's directors move beyond the trial to scheme against Seon-ah herself. Can she win her lonely fight against them?

Yo-han trusted me, but I couldn't trust him. Ga-on sinks into guilt, and before he can right his wrong, news comes that Yo-han has died in prison. Sure nothing can stop them, the Foundation's directors drop all pretense, and the Dream Base secret surfaces. Can Ga-on fix it all without Yo-han?
