Put Some Colour in Your Life: Watercolors and Pastels

Patricia has always been attracted to the organic blend and flow of colors in watercolor, especially in the wet-on-wet technique. Patricia is taking that love of subtle blending of color and organic shapes to creating large contemporary abstracts that are big, bold, beautiful, and brimming with vibrant color!. Along with creating her own artwork, Patricia also helps others develop their skills.

Paula Knight grew up beside beautiful Mount Maunganui Beach in the Bay of Plenty. In London, Paula worked in design and studied life painting in oils at Wimbledon School of Art. A two year journey traveling through Africa saw her botanical painting career begin. Paula's background as a watercolor botanical artist shows the intimate detail of her work.

Peter uses vibrant colors for his vigorous interpretations. They capture the glowing earthy yellows and oranges of the land and mountains, the ephemeral purples, aqua and blues of the sky and lagoons and they reflect the uniqueness of the terrain, the changes of the day and seasons and one can feel he has connections and awareness of the indigenous myths and legends of the land.

Having traveled widely, Rob's works depict aspects of life in France, Greek Islands, Bangkok's Rambutri and Khao San Road. Landscapes, nudes, coastal and beach scenes, the well-known series that include Volkswagen 'Beetles', Kombi, Holden, Minis and Morris Minors; NZ's Pukekos, Cabbage Trees, Flaxes and Pohutukawa; down-under barbeques, café scenes, jazz, dance or abstract pieces, and more!

As a young woman she received a Classical Art Education in Ukraine before immigrating to New Zealand in 1992. Since that time she has enjoyed amazing success and a growing reputation as one of the country's top watercolor artists. She has won numerous Art Awards and has a strong following. Her impressive paintings are due to her ability to transform any chosen subject into visual poetic language.
