The Great Pottery Throw Down

Twelve of Britain's best home potters arrive in hopes of being crowned champion of The Great Pottery Throw Down. Who will be named potter of the week, and who will be the first to leave? Host Melanie Sykes helps the judges decide.

The remaining contestants' fine motor skills are put to the test in "miniature week," where they'll have to throw and decorate tiny vases and 32-piece chess sets.

After the tenacious potters tackle Raku firing, they receive a masterclass in Nerikomi, a tricky Japanese ceramic technique.

The return of a favorite Throw Down challenge sees Keith throwing wide bowls while blindfolded! Which of the remaining potters will rise to the challenge and be named potter of the week, and who will have to say their goodbyes?

The contestants must overcome the electrifying feat of throwing and altering a pair of identically sized lamp bases before facing an emotional ceramic challenge.

It's "Greek week," and a pair of nude models serve as inspiration for the potters as they attempt Grecian god/goddess statues. Will this Throw Down be a tragedy or a comedy? Only judges Keith and Sue can decide.

In one of the most difficult competitions yet, the potters must hand build enough 3D tiles to surround a fireplace and hearth. Fittingly, for their next challenge, and a spot in the quarter-final, they must also throw a chimney.

The remaining contestants gather around the campfire to produce and decorate two ginger jars before heading back to the studio to tackle the elements in a moving sgraffito technique challenge.

The potters hope to flush away the remaining competition in an ambitious semi-final that sees them producing fully functioning toilets!

The final potters must showcase all of their skills for two of the toughest challenges this competition has ever seen. While talent abounds, only one can be crowned champion of The Great Pottery Throw Down!
