1996 NCAA(r) Division I Men's Basketball 2nd Round - Kentucky vs. Virginia Tech
Kentucky defeated Virginia Tech by a score of 84-60. The Wildcats were the top-seeded team, while the Hokies were seeded ninth. Virginia Tech was coached by Bill C. Foster and the Wildcats were coached by Rick Pitino. Kentucky was led by All-Tournament Team selections Ron Mercer and Tony Delk, who was also the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament.
