Trent and Anna butt heads when he confronts her on her withdrawal from the family. Back home the family begins to babyproof the house as Leighton grows up and Liz and Brice look for land for a house of their own.

Brice hosts a fish fry for the family. Meanwhile, Anna visits Nana to catch up. Emma bonds with Jonah's girlfriend, Ashley, as they go out shopping and film a new video series together. Later, Alex and Emma reach out to Anna to meet up.

Later they celebrate Nana's birthday, and it's an emotional evening after Liz and Birce pick up Leighton from her first day at daycare. Finally, after months of tension, Emma and Alex meet Anna for dinner.

The Johnstons put together a live nativity set for their annual Christmas card. Anna does her own Christmas photos with her dogs and struggles with being distant from her family during the holidays. Trent and Amber come up with a plan to meet Anna.
