A French Village

In French with English subtitles. Marcel and the communist militants conduct a resistance operation but it goes wrong and the French police catch Suzanne. Meanwhile, Raymond Schwartz learns that the new German commander has decided to break off the contract with the sawmill, threatening his livelihood.

In French with English subtitles. While the communist group plans their next move, Daniel comes to Marcel with urgent news. Their father, who Marcel had fallen out with years before, had a serious attack and is on his deathbed.

In French with English subtitles. Suzanne and Marcel are caught in a random roundup of villagers and brought in to be questioned by the Germans. Hortense's secret affair with Heinrich continues, and Daniel starts to become suspicious.

In French with English subtitles. Daniel investigates the disappearance of food supplies to Villeneuve with the help of De Kevern, while both Hortense and Lucienne's respective love affairs are disclosed.

In French with English subtitles. The German police have put Marcel under surveillance in an attempt to discover his militants' network. Elsewhere in Villeneuve, Raymond gets an unusual request from his secret business partner.

In French with English subtitles. Marcel and the communist militants figure out the details and put their plan to assassinate the German Commander into effect. Meanwhile, Lucienne agrees to marry Jules, on condition that he be baptized.

In French with English subtitles. In response to the shooting of two officers, the Germans insist that 20 French hostages be executed in reprisal. Daniel seeks to do everything he can to spare the lives of the hostages, while Marchetti, recently reassigned to Villeneuve, tightens the noose on the communist militants.

In French with English subtitles. Yvon is arrested by Heinrich Müller, but refuses to denounce his fellow comrades. Meanwhile, Gustave, convinced that his father is in Switzerland, decides to go alone to join him.

In French with English subtitles. Marcel decides to risk it all and go see his son at Daniel's after he falls ill. Hortense learns that Heinrich will be posted on the Russian front if he does not stop the perpetrators of the attack within 24 hours

In French with English subtitles. Daniel is arrested by Heinrich after helping Marcel escape. Hortense pleads to have him released, but Heinrich's career is at risk and he must force Daniel to divulge his brother's whereabouts.

In French with English subtitles. Marcel is now faced with a crucial decision on whether to follow orders or disobey them. Hortense, who is temporarily staying with Daniel to assist around the house, attempts to save their marriage.
