A Lifes Worth

On their very first mission, the sergeant leading them is killed in an ambush. Meanwhile, Eldin, a Bosniak civilian, desperately searches for medicine for his asthmatic daughter.

Promoted to sergeant, Forss faces the challenge of leadership. When ominous news emerges about unrest in the village of Stupni Do, the soldiers investigate but are denied access. Frustrated, they place their faith in Colonel Andreasson.

The battalion intervenes as Croatian forces abduct civilians, and tensions escalate dangerously. As the situation worsens, the UN troops are forced to make tough decisions, surrounded by violence and moral challenges.

Colonel Andreasson tries to defuse the situation amid an impending retaliation by Bosniak paramilitary groups. As ethnic tensions rise, the soldiers are sent on an evacuation mission, but on their return, they find themselves in mortal danger.

The four young soldiers are captured and brutalized by Serbian extremists. As high command reels, Colonel Andreasson faces the dilemma of giving the extremists what they want or refusing to negotiate with terrorists, risking the soldiers' lives.

The freed soldiers return to camp, facing scrutiny from Swedish politicians for their actions in Bosnia, as well as personal dilemmas. With the end of their service abroad approaching, some leave while others choose to stay behind.
