Gripping sea adventure in which survivors from a sunken luxury liner crowd into a small boat commanded by Power, whose initial aim is to save all. Many of those crammed into the boat or clinging to it in the water are sick or dying. It soon becomes apparent to the mortally injured Nolan, one of the ship s officers, that Power must exercise a survival-of-the-fittest rule.
