When a popular rap artist is kidnapped by a maniac, investigator Nastya takes on the case. Seeking the help of a medical professional, Nastya makes an unexpected alliance with Dr. Lemke. The department later offers Dr. Lemke to take part in criminal investigations, but he proposes an even greater idea to Nastya: to form a band of knowledgeable scientists and call it Academia.

Nastya and Dr. Lemke begin to develop their team, searching for the right candidates to join. Their first candidate, Oskana, is an IT specialist. However, while Dr. Lemke advocates for her, Nastya finds it uncomfortable to hire a prior criminal into the team. Dr. Lemke tries to put his family life back together.

The team begins to gain momentum, adding another candidate, Eduard, for the biologist position. Unidentified remains are found in a hidden place named "Peace and Quiet", but who is behind the murders? The gang runs into a young chemist named Shurik and just might acquire his skills for the good of the team.
