The clock rewinds to six years ago, to the first-ever case our ace attorney's mentor handled. Her client: a death row inmate on the hook for murdering a policewoman during his escape attempt.

As the pivotal case from six years ago headed toward its climax, the truth seemed to be well within reach... But there was to be one last twist in the tale.

Back in the present, our spirit medium decides to hit up Hazakura Temple, a renowned training spot, to boost her powers. There, the gang runs into some familiar faces, some unforgettable.

Genius prosecutor-turned-temporary defense attorney takes the court to defend a client at his best friend's request, but the prosecution's case is strong. Can he turn things about?

Thanks to Larry's eye-witness sketch, court is adjourned for further investigation. Phoenix returns to the scene of the crime and discovers a new twist!
