Alex in the Sea

Dolphins are mammals who live under the sea but come to the surface to breathe. When they are babies, dolphins drink their mother's milk for nourishment. They usually play in groups and communicate to each other by making sounds.

Sea turtles are reptiles that live in tropical areas and they only come on land when they are going to lay eggs. They are very slow walkers but unlike the land turtles their legs are in the shape of a fin which helps them in being excellent divers.

Octopuses are Molluscs which live in caves or hollows under the sea. They have eight arms which are covered in tentacles to help them move around and they also have a bag where they can store food but, they are very soft as they have no bones.

Jellyfish are Molluscs that are found in the sea and their shapes are similar to a upside down bell. They look like an umbrella being opened and shut slowly while swimming and the most amazing thing about them is that they can glow in the dark.

Whales are the largest mammals that live under the sea. While breathing they send water spurts through a hole in their head to exhale so they can inhale fresh air. It is also known that whales sing so they can warn each other about danger.

Alex's journey to capture Marine life on his camera succeeds. This time, he gets to see two seals enjoying on a small island.

Sardines are small fish that live in big groups. The reason they live this way is for protection from bigger fish and so they try not to be alone. They have a silver belly that frequently shows a blue stripe and a green torso.

Penguins are related to the bird family but they can't fly. They are excellent swimmers though, so it looks as though they are flying in through the water. When on land, they like to slide along the ground until they reach water.

Alex is assigned a task to explore the sea. He returns with a picture of a shark, hence, impressing the scientist and gaining some knowledge about marine life for his own happiness.

Tuna fish are really fast swimmers. They are cold blooded fish and can withstand low temperatures in the ocean. Some members of the species can raise the temperature of their body above the temperature of the water with the activity of their muscles.

Sea shells are an integral part of marine life. On his journey to capture marine life on his lens, Alex manages to get pictures of some rare sea shells.

The sea also has stars! They can be of many different colours and are living beings. They have five arms and thousands of tiny tube feet, which also help them to grab their food. They have the ability to regenerate their body too.

Swordfish have a long, sharp bill with which they hunt their food. Also, they are really fast swimmers and usually travel to different seas to find better food. They can live for at least nine years and are usually of a black and grey colour.

Ocean sunfish have a shark like fin, so when seen over the water's surface, they are frequently confused with them. They can reach the same weight as three people together, so they eat a lot! The female, when pregnant can produce more than 300 eggs.

Walrus' are found in the extreme cold regions. Watch out for Alex's tryst with the Walruses.

Crabs are crustaceans with no bones. They have a shell to protect them from their enemies and ten legs; two of them in the front are large grasping pincers which they use to pick up their food. They can be found in the ocean or inland near water.

The orca is a mammal. They are extremely large and heavy and can be recognized by their black and white colour. During the day they travel, rest and socialize in groups. They are often seen slapping their tail and raising their head out of the water.

Alex is assigned a task to explore the marine life. He returns with a picture of a rare crab and submits it to the scientist.

Calamari is a squid with eight arms and two tentacles arranged in pairs. Some species of squid can expel an ink if they feel threatened by enemies. This ink blurs the water and makes it impossible for the enemies to follow them.

Alex was enjoying the view of seashore. Scientist assigned him to explore the underwater species and Alex capture about Mantra Rays and gain more knowledge about it.

The cat fish got their name because of their whiskers which look exactly like a cat's. They use these whiskers to taste and feel things.

The moray fish has a flattened body without scales and they can be estimated to be as large as human beings. Although they are missing scales, moray fish have a layer of mucus to protect their skin.

Hammerhead Sharks got their name from their hammer-head shape. Having an eye on each extreme of the hammer-head, they can see over a distance. They are grey in colour and can be as big as a blackboard.
