News of a powerful man's death spreads fast. Construction mogul Athos Butshingi is challenged by a political candidate. The Supingstad community receive shocking news. Dumo gambles on an unusual networking opportunity; Robert Makhathini's funeral.

The community of Supingstad fight being evicted. Qhawe gets involved with the community protests, as Jo Davey her editor at Umbuzo Weekly begins to question her decisions. Dumo and Wandile have the interview of their careers.

While the community members discover the harsh new realities of their relocation and broken promises from Sbu and his cronies - Qhawe follows the money and discovers more questions than answers. A witness to Robert Makhathini's death comes forward.

Qhawe's new article on the tenders and broken promises has hit the street and is creating havoc. This is torture for Twala and his cronies, and a celebration and hope for the informal settlement people.

Twala wants to teach Qhawe a lesson but Athos resolves to sort it out in his own strategic way. Jo gives Qhawe some cynical romantic advice and Qhawe takes radical action with Umbuzo Weekly's resident photographer.

Qhawe has 'morning after' regrets from her evening with Dumo while Wandile's insistence on asking questions brings him into conflict with Dumo. Meanwhile, Qhawe is contacted by a girl with a secret that could bring down Twala – but is it a true story?

Qhawe feels Dumo used her for damage control with the community – however, Athos is actually fulfilling his promises of RDP Houses – but Qhawe knows his games too well. She also learns her mother knew Robert Makhatini which fuels her investigation.

Qhawe is out of her depth when Twala's love child story takes a negative turn for her and the paper, but Jo is still on her side and fights to save Qhawe's job. Wandile realizes he was set up by Dumo. Qhawe makes a horrific discovery about her mother.

Qhawe struggles with the discovery that her mother was executed and decides she must focus on her career. -She is shocked further when Jo says she might be fired after the negative backlash from the Twala baby-daddy article.

Qhawe pays a high price for sticking to her principles and is forced to resign from Umbuzo Weekly. At the community, basic water is not being provided and the community members are being exploited by one of their own. Wandile embarks on a deadly mission.

After struggling to find work, Qhawe begs Jo for her job back. The only way for this to happen is for Qhawe to grovel and beg to Twala. Determined to find out the truth, Qhawe goes through Butshingi's emails with the help of her hacker contact.

Wandile raids the coal-mining site for evidence. As chaos erupts among the stakeholders following the break-in, Dumo begins to feel danger. He makes the decision to restrain his brother until he can convince him to leave the country.

In his grief, Dumo decides that his revenge mission against Athos will be to take everything from him – his business and his daughter. Dumo starts to pursue Lesedi planning to ultimately turn her against her father. Payback for the loss of his brother.

Qhawe's attempts to find out what happened to Wandile have put her and her family in grave danger. Dumo continues his revenge plan to strike the father by winning the daughter, but his hatred of Athos almost leads to a fatal mistake.

With Fr. Vusi's revelation about her mother's innocence, Qhawe starts unravelling the web of lies around her mother's death. As she follows the leads, she starts to suspect her mother's killer is someone she knows.

Sbonelo's funeral fuels further outrage after a goodwill offer by Khetiwe misfires, putting Twala's election campaign into a tailspin. Qhawe endangers their lives when she forces Vusi and Sanele to house Thobani to keep him safe.

Qhawe is shaken by the Athos threat, but a dream from her mother revives her fighting spirit. Meanwhile, she is losing connection with Thobani. But when the break-in at Twala's office happens, Qhawe discovers a hurtful betrayal.

Qhawe confronts Vusi about spying for Twala. He denies it. Qhawe, concerned for Thobani's safety, takes him out of Vusi's care and makes arrangements for him to go to a boarding school. Twala announces his candidacy for Premiere.

When Vusi disappears, Qhawe, Jo and Sanele begin to fear the worst. Dumo's interest in Athos arouses suspicion, resulting in Dumo taking a risky gamble. Twala realizes his secret has allowed him to be manipulated, and put him in jeopardy.

After Sanele blames Qhawe for Vusi's death, Qhawe and Boykie join forces in a bid to link Twala and Thunder to his murder. As they track a mysterious white van, they discover something that might sink Twala's campaign.

Qhawe begins to unpack her mother's diary while finally the contents of Wandile's sim card are revealed to her by Boykie. While Supingstad is on the verge of collapse.

Qhawe finally cracks Wandile's account and makes a shocking discovery. Twala's on his way to win Premier but as his relationship with Athos deteriorates. With Khetiwe's urging, his plans around the coal take an unexpected turn.

While Twala prepares to sell the land to Athos, Qhawe races against the clock stop the call. Drawing on all her contacts, Qhawe searches for evidence that will finally put Twala in jail. Meanwhile Twala betrays Charles' trust.
