It's the first week of summer, one of the most challenging times of year for NSW Ambulance. we follow cases including a pregnant woman who goes into labour at home and clear that the baby is coming in a hurry, 18year old girls who have been involved in a car accident and one of them has been thrown out of the car as she wasn't wearing her seatbelt , and a worksite explosion.

In this episode we follow cases including a stabbing victim, a man hit on the head with a hailstone, and a schizophrenic patient having delusions, as well as a birthday brawl, a car crash and a man assaulted and robbed of his cat medicine. Ambulance goes beyond the blue flashing lights, to the heart and soul of the people devoted to helping others on the worst day of their lives.

In this episode we follow a worksite explosion, a motor vehicle accident, a horse-riding injury, as well as a sore finger complaint. To top off the night, Marco and Chenea meet 102-year-old Stan, who despite his medical issues is not short of humour.

It's one of the hottest weeks on record in Sydney, and the call takers and paramedics are inundated with the number of calls. DOM Paul is called out to Maroubra beach, where a 13-year-old girl has hit her back while surfing and has a suspected spinal injury. DOM Mick attends to a cardiac arrest at Sydney Airport, while DOM Jordan attends to a jovial young man who has fallen from a balcony.

Rick and Amie are called to a bomb threat at Sydney airport, while good friends Mosh and Karen are called to a 35-week pregnant woman, and Maggie and Fernando are dispatched to a young man who has been having suicidal thoughts. Accidents on the road are also a theme. Finally, Dani and Charlie assist on an unusual job, where they must transport a heavily obese man to hospital.

This episode finds the paramedics on one of their busiest days of the year, Australia Day. Faced with a huge increase in alcohol related calls, as well as a scorching hot day, Jordan is faced with the huge task of rescuing a woman who has collapsed on top of the Harbour Bridge.
