Someone only D.W. can see has moved in with the Reads. Her name is Nadine, and she follows D.W. everywhere. Arthur is the first to get the new Scare-Your-Pants-Off book from the library. Unfortunately, he can't figure out where he put it!

Arthur's new puppy is exactly what he wanted. He's cute and wriggly, and he follows Arthur everywhere. But training a puppy is harder than Arthur thought. Then, a mere $10 stands between Arthur and the shoes he's been dreaming about.
