Barney Google & Snuffy Smith

Snuffy's dog, Bullet, has become such a sissy. Snuffy takes him to the local gym to get him in shape. The only thing Snuffy ever ran for in his life was a rabbit. Google tries to cash in on this by luring Snuffy to the Olympic Games with tales of rabbit chasing. Barney schemes to win a baking contest with one of Loweezy's pies. Barney catches Jughaid crying over a lost nickel.

Barney tries to pull the wool over Snuffy's eyes in a fast deal for a car, but Snuffy's new heap turns out to be a valuable antique. Snuffy inherits a membership in the exclusive Highbrow Country Club, and proceeds to wreck it. Barney wants Snuffy to have his bad tooth pulled by the nearsighted Doc Fetlock. Barney thinks it's a big joke when Jughaid gets a toy magic set.

Barney talks Snuffy into boxing the heavyweight champ. Professor Ludwig Brilliant, famous Dutch scientist, has invented a work pill, which he tries out on Snuffy. Jethro, proprietor of the general store, unloads his ornery goat on Loweezy. Jughaid reads Uncle Snuffy the story of Rip Van Winkle. When Snuffy goes to sleep, Jughaid decides to recreate the story... but with Snuffy in the lead.

Cousin Rufe and his family invade Hootin' Holler for the weekend and eat the vittles right off Snuffy's plate. Loweezy thinks it's time Barney got married and she takes him to the town matchmaker. Loweezy goes to charm school to make herself slim and poised. Two escaped convicts make their way to Hootin' Holler, where Snuffy Smith mistakenly treats them to hill-country hospitality.

Snuffy tries to stop the new super highway from going through the middle of his cabin. Honest John Doe and his sidekick, Fearful F. Freddie, try to swindle Loweezy into selling the Smith farm. Barney turns the Smith residence into a tourist attraction. Jughaid is mad at Santa Claus because he never received the bicycle he's been asking for every Christmas.

Jughaid sets out to win the frog jumping contest. But the Feather Merchants also enter the race. The Smiths try everything to keep up with their uppity neighbors, the Joneses. Snuffy has to babysit with Bizzy Bee. Snuffy and Loweezy are converted into a pair of swinging beatniks by two hipsters, Scrounge and Blimp, who build a new coffee house in their honor.

Jughaid figures that by playing hooky and being just a plain woodchopping country boy, he can become president like Abe Lincoln. The smoke signals from Snuffy's pipe bring Chief See-more on the run. When Snuffy gets a chance to try out a new thoroughbred, he almost has old Sparky turned into glue. Snuffy has a big chance to become a great artist... under Barney's guiding hand.

Snuffy and Jughaid go fishin' and are hooked by a couple of smart-aleck fish. Snuffy's long lost English cousins leave him with a fortune and a castle. Antique Alfred buys Snuffy Smith's entire suite of authentic early American furniture... in exchange for the latest contraptions. Snuffy's neighbors, Lem and Abner, kidnap little Bizzy Bee and hold her for $1.30 ransom.

Sparky becomes a sleep walking horse. Snuffy has eyes for the big prize in the upcoming turkey shoot at the County Fair. On the first snowy day, Barney decides to turn Hootin' Holler into another Sun Valley. But things get a little rough when he tries to teach Snuffy, Loweezy and Jughaid how to ski, skate and bobsled. Loweezy and Snuffy reminisce about their courtship through their fathers' feud.

Jughaid hires a Japanese instructor to teach him judo so he can whip Bully Bonecrusher. Snuffy and Jughaid take little Bizzy Bee along on a bear hunting trip. Snuffy gets into a feud with Clem over Loweezy's hog callin' abilities. Barney's rich uncle sends tickets for an ocean cruise. Snuffy tries to adapt the liner to the hillbilly way of life.

Bizzy Bee cleans Snuffy and Barney out of house and home with her furious cleaning tactics. Barney tells Snuffy he should be a modern farmer if he wants more produce. Jughaid falls asleep while Loweezy is reading him Little Red Riding Hood. He dreams the tale with a special Hootin' Holler twist. A letter sends Snuffy to college, where a clout on the head gives him new mental powers.

Sparky falls in love with Dolores Del Horso, a beautiful filly who's entering the Hillbilly Derby. But he has some competition from that equestrian lover Rudolph Horse for her hoof. Jerky Jockey steals Snuffy's Hexing Posies and uses them in the big race against Sparkplug with Barney Google up. Barney decides to cash in on the current music rage by recording the song Snuffy sings as he chops wood.

Snuffy is drafted. But he's the wrong Smith. He goes through fire and brimstone to reach the commanding General to explain the mistake. Snuffy is tricked into becoming an accomplice in a bank robbery. The only clue is a photograph of Snuffy's hat. Actress Beulah Bangfoot wants to use Loweezy as a model for her next play. She copies Maw so closely that Snuffy can't tell them apart.
