On a flight to New York City, Cody and April's plane crashes during a storm. Meanwhile Mitch's new life with Neely falls apart when he meets her ex-husband.

As Mitch deals with Neely's confession, Cody and April race to save the survivors of the plane crash. However, a tragic turn of events puts April in danger as the plane wreckage begins to sink into the Pacific.

Captain Alexis "Alex" Ryker, the conniving CEO of a private lifeguard company, wants to take over Baywatch to expand her company. When Mitch suspects Alex of setting up rescues, he resorts to having Cody spy on the Bayguard team.

Cody accompanies Alex on a vacation to Hawaii where she wants to take her autistic 10-year-old nephew, Timmy, to swim with dolphins in the local lagoon. Meanwhile, Cody spends time with Lani's sister, Callie, a local Hawaiian lifeguard.

A mysterious lifeguard begins making rescues around Baywatch but vanishes before being caught by the officials. Meanwhile, Alex gets a pitiful new partner after she goes over Mitch's head one too many times.

As April falls apart after losing a rescue, Mitch and the widow refuse to give up searching for his body. Meanwhile, Jessie runs into an old beau who could destroy her future at Baywatch.

Hobie struggles with his role in a boating accident that left a girl in a coma. Meanwhile, Jessie's gripped with fear after April tells her of a recent tragedy on the job.

Mitch befriends a young boy who joins the junior lifeguards in hopes of escaping a brutal home life. Meanwhile, Jessie makes a play for JD and Alex tries out for 'Jeopardy!'

Mitch, despondent from his failed marriage to the absent Neely, goes for a day-long tower swim along the beach and encounters various other problems, including April and Craig's growing attraction, and reluctant heroes Cody and JD.

A young hearing-impaired girl learns a lesson in friendship when she, Mitch and Alex protect an orangutan, while Cody and Jessie deal with its abusive owner.

Cody puts his career, and his life, on the line when he starts using a performance-enhancing supplement in hopes of making it to the Sydney Olympics. Meanwhile, Alex becomes the object of Newmie's affection and Mitch's rejection.

Mitch tries to reunite an Army parachutist with her Naval-officer father, while Cody helps a beautiful free-diver reach a new "low" at a national competition being held in Los Angeles.
