Big cat expert Giles Clark hopes to turn The Big Cat Sanctuary in Kent, England, into a center of global excellence for big cat conservation. He adopts Maya, a jaguar cub, to hand raise at home, but her health deteriorates and she is rushed to a hospital.

Maya grows from a vulnerable baby into a boisterous toddler as Giles continues to monitor her health. He takes her to a hydrotherapy center where she meets a new four-legged friend and begins to show signs of improvement.

Maya pushes the family to their limits as she hits 10 weeks old, and Giles takes in a cheetah cub, Willow, who suffered a traumatic injury. After appearing on BBC Breakfast to raise awareness for big cats, Giles visits Kenya to help a lion and her pride.
