Conceived in 2017 and filmed over 5 years, "Blue Island" confronts the largest protests in Hong Kong as a new wave of young people fight to take back the streets, as one generation after another has done throughout Hong Kong's history. Filmmaker Chan Tze-woon's inventive blend of documentary and drama won the top prize at the 2022 Hot Docs fest.
