Brig. Gen. Paul Tibbets

When his mom buys the young Paul Tibbets a ride at a carnival he gets a brief taste of flying–and is hooked for life.

While Tibbits is flying missions over Europe Oppenheimer is secretly developing an atomic bomb. The plan to deliver the new bomb is called "Operation Silverplate."

Tibbits is called back from Europe to help develop a new long-range bomber: the B-29. He soon will be asked to fly it on a mission that will change the world forever.
