Callan

Callan leaves the hospital to find that his flat has been closed and his goods sold. He has an interview with the departments psychiatrist watched by Hunter on a closed circuit TV.

Palanka, an assassin, eludes Cross and Callan at a railway station. In the confusion, a civilian is knocked under an incoming train by Cross and killed. Police begin an inquiry.

Two British agents, Surtees and Mallory, have returned from West Germany. Mallory tells Callan that Surtees has given away all he knew.

Hunter's secretary, Liz, is missing. Callan and Cross are given her life history and told to find her. Callan finds out that Cross has taken Liz out several times.

Rene, a French documentary TV producer, asks Janet Lewis, widow of the late foreign Secretary, to appear in a program on her late husband’s life and work at a considerable fee.

Land and Prescott are both contesting for the post of Managing Director of their firm. Land threatens to expose Prescott with compromising photographs of Prescott in Moscow with a girl. Prescott refuses to resign.

Beth, a government interpreter, is engaged to Mark Teddler, a public relations man. Teddler is considered a security suspect and Callan has been told to see to it that the marriage does not take place.

A dangerous K.G.B. agent, Lubin, gives himself up for protection. Hunter instructs Callan to kill him by organizing Lubin's escape from prison.

An ace of spades book of matches is found on the corpse of colored pacifist, Arillo, who was due to liaise with the militant group in England, the Black Glove.
