In the aftermath of Catherine's suicide, Detective John Cardinal outwardly accepts the evidence that she took her own life, but when he starts to receive taunting greeting cards blaming him for her death, he begins to question the suicide.

Cardinal and Delorme struggle to identify the victims, unaware that there is a witness to the crime, who is being stalked by the murderer.

As Sharlene "Mama" Winston and her family hold Lloyd Kreeger captive, Cardinal and Delorme flush out an unexpected ally in their search for the killers; Cardinal confronts a man he believes may be connected to Catherine's suicide.

Armed with new evidence, Cardinal and Delorme make a break in the case that could explain the motive behind the murders.

Delorm agrees to travel to Toronto to appease Cardinal and she assesses whether there is any validity that Cardinal's wife may not have committed suicide.

Sharlene 'Mama' Winston is readying a plane for takeoff with her 2 accomplices until the police close in and hold them at bay. Meanwhile Cardinal is closing in on determining if his wife's death was actually a suicide or a murder.
