Clangers

Tiny Clanger has made up a new marvellous melody, and the Music Trees are playing it while she conducts. Suddenly The Iron Chicken flies in – there is a big wind on the way! Major Clanger appears and tells everyone to take cover underground until the storm has passed. When, eventually, all is calm again, Tiny wants Small to come and listen to his new tune.

A Sky Moo has landed on the Clangers' planet and brought Small something it has found – it looks like a strange three-dimensional metallic jigsaw piece! He has no idea what it is. Small shows it to Major Clanger but he's not really interested as he can't see a use for it. Small shows it to Tiny Clanger but she's not interested as you can't play a tune with it.

When Tiny and Small visit the Soup Dragon to get their daily soup, they find her in a bad mood, which they don't really understand. She doesn't like Tiny's new dance and she isn't very helpful. So they help themselves to soup, without so much as a please or thank-you!

Granny Clanger keeps on dropping her ball of wool while she is knitting, and getting in a tangle when she tries to rewind it. Major Clanger, who has been looking for something useful to do, decides he will invent something to solve the problem.

It's Granny Clanger's birthday. Small wants to help Major Clanger make something for Granny's birthday, but Major says his work is too difficult for a young Clanger like Small. Small is not happy with the decision and decides he will invent something and make it himself. He gathers some materials from around the caves and sets to work.

Unbeknownst to the Clangers, a strange little egg-shaped object lands on their planet whilst they are asleep. It is an Eggbot. It starts to explore, going deeper and deeper underground until it gets stuck and can go no further.

Mother Clanger, Tiny and Small are all in Mother's Garden. Tiny and Small are growing their own little plant and are watching over it. But it doesn't seem to be any bigger than the last time they looked at it. Despite Mother explaining that it takes time for a plant to grow, Tiny and Small are impatient.

After a lovely game of Clangerball, Mother Clanger calls everyone in because it's time for bed. The Clangers say goodnight to the baby soup dragon and her mother, to the froglets and to each other and settle down to sleep. In her bedcave, Tiny puts on her radio hat so that she can hear her nightly lullaby, sung to her by the Iron Chicken.

Tiny is playing Granny Clanger a lovely tune, as she sits knitting on her puffball chair up on the planet's surface. Suddenly it starts to get chilly, and as she wraps a newly-knitted scarf around Tiny, a strange crystal shaped object drifts down from the sky. It is a seed, a seed from a Crystal Tree as Granny recalls.

Major Clanger is trying to stop the various bed-cave doors from squeaking. Granny goes up to the surface to get away from the noise as Major runs out of oil and sends Tiny and Small down to the Mother's garden to fetch some. On their way there Tiny and Small are surprised to hear a strange noise and to see a glow buzzer going off down an unfamiliar passageway, towards the noise.

Small Clanger is planning a picnic and has invited the Iron Chicken. But the Iron Chicken is late. Small looks up through his telescope towards the Iron Chicken's nest and is alarmed to see that the Iron Chicken is trapped, by an assortment of junk metal that is in orbit around her nest. Small calls Tiny and together they go up in the music boat to investigate.

Tiny, Small, the Froglets and Baby Dragon are playing games with the Cloud – first they play Hide and Seek, then the Jumping Game (the Froglets are very good at that), and the Shape Game. Baby Dragon is very impressed that Tiny guesses all the shapes, and gives her a prize - a jewel that she has in her bag. Just then Major Clanger calls them all in - it's bedtime.

Tiny and Small are in the living cave, they are playing tag, racing round trying to catch each other. Tiny is so excited that she doesn't see Major's toolbox on the floor. She trips over it and goes flying.

Tiny is trying to make up a new tune but today for once she just can't think of one. She decides to ask Mother and Major what sort of tune they would like to hear. Major is very clear – he would like something 'bold and stirring'. But Mother disagrees – she would like to hear something 'light and charming'.

While out fishing in the music boat, Small catches a strange metal ball, about the size of a grapefruit. He has no idea what it is, and when he takes it home, Major doesn't know either – but it might come in useful one day so Major puts it on a shelf in his workshop, alongside all the other odd objects he has collected over the years.

Tiny Clanger has made up a beautiful new tune and is playing it while her flower friends sing with her. Mother Clanger is dancing and telling Tiny how talented she is. Tiny suggests Mother should have a go at playing but Mother declines, saying she doesn't have the talent. Major disagrees –she has all sorts of talents, she should have a go.

Mother Clanger has given Tiny and Small bubble flowers to play with. But one gets popped and by accident they let go of the other one, and it floats up into space. A passing Skymoo sees it and dives to grab it to eat, but in doing so she collides with the Iron Chicken's nest and the Iron Chicken is tipped out, falling to the planet's surface where she crash lands.

Major Clanger and Small are up fishing in the music boat. Major has had a good day – he's caught a lot of things including an old lamp and a wonderful glitterball. But poor Small hasn't caught anything. He is very sad. Suddenly Major shouts out – he's seen a streak of light of light in the sky. But when Small turns to see it, it's gone.

Tiny and her flower friends are playing a lovely tune with the music trees when suddenly they hear a strange voice joining in. it seems to be coming from high in the sky. Tiny and her flowers go up in the music boat to investigate and are amazed to find a lone flower singing on a rocky asteroid as it floats through space.

The Iron Chicken decides she has too much 'stuff' in her nest. She bundles up all the old metal things she no longer has room for and with the help of the Skymoos, dumps them on the Clangers' planet. Major thinks the junk might come in useful and, much to the Iron Chicken's relief, decides to keep it.

The Soup Dragon is busy with her soup. Baby Soup Dragon wants to help and makes a grab for his mother's big soup ladle. But the Soup Dragon says he can't have it –he might hurt himself with it. Just then Tiny and Small arrive to collect soup for their dinner. When they see that Baby Soup Dragon is upset and the Soup Dragon explains why, Tiny and Small suggest he comes and helps them instead.

Tiny and Small find a box that has fallen from space. Very excited they open it. They discover that all it contains is two circles of black cloth. They put them on the ground, very disappointed. Then suddenly a froglet joins them. Looking at one of the circles, the froglet jumps on it….and disappears…only to reappear a fraction of a second later out of the other hole. Then he does it again.

Major Clanger has invented a new machine to clean up the planet. It's like a sit-on vacuum cleaner with a giant nozzle. Tiny and Small are intrigued as he drives it up onto the planet's surface. But before he can really demonstrate how it works, Granny calls him down – it is his turn to pick the blue string for the pudding.

One day, Small Clanger is collecting soup from the soup wells for the Clangers dinner, when he is suddenly struck by how kind the Soup Dragon is, always happy and willing to supply the whole family with soup, every day!

A baby Hoot is playing on the Hoot Planet when it accidentally lets go of the rope it was swinging on and starts to fall through space. Meanwhile, Tiny Clanger has made up a lovely tune at the music trees and is playing along on her panpipes. Mother and Major are listening and loving it.
