Pete and Jo return from their honeymoon in Australia. Adam feels left out by Rachel's doting love of baby Matthew and finds it hard to love the baby himself which creates a wedge between him and Rachel. David and Karen commence divorce proceedings.

At the naming ceremony of Matthew, Adam tells everyone he finds it hard to love the baby. Furious that Karen is seeing Mark again, David instructs his lawyer to fight the divorce. Pete and Jo are interviewed by the Immigration Department to confirm the legitimacy of their marriage.

Rachel and Adam go house hunting after their home is put up for auction.

Adam shows no apparent signs of grief as he returns to work almost immediately. Concerned, his friends visit him. Lee asks Ramona to marry him, causing Karen to reveal his affair with Jo and leaving both Ramona and Pete furious with their partners.
