Pascal and Pauline return to their parents' farm after many years of travel and are unable to pay the land taxes. They are confronted by their childhood friends who, from modest backgrounds, have never left the countryside. Above all, there's Emmanuel, who wants to buy their farm at cost price in order to expand his retirement homes.
