Kelsey returns to her old job at Australia Zoo only to find that the small zoo she left has grown into a major zoological facility. Expansion plans are in the works and frustrations abound with over 350 employees now on staff.

Steve travels to the UK to learn about the world's most successful gorilla breeding program at Howlett's Wild Animal Park. Seven young Howlett's bred baby gorillas are shipped off to start a new life in the wild of Africa in what is a tearful farewell.

For heart stopping action, Steve, Brian and Toby are called to capture a rogue crocodile in the South Pacific islands of Vanuatu. Steve then does some tricky field surgery on a bullet wound that has shot out the animal's eye.

The fun side of Australia Zoo shows some very active minds when Wes cooks up a batch of spring rolls using real worms and almost tricks Jodie and Kelsey into eating them. Later, a bogus Arab Crown Prince tries to convince Steve to part with his camels.

The zoo staff visits major zoos in Australia to learn more about the various kinds of animals that will make their homes at the expanded Australia Zoo. They get more than they bargained for during first hand encounters with elephants and the big cats.

The Zoo team goes to Croc School and each boy has to prove their skills by catching a wild crocodile in the jungle. Under the ever watchful eye of Steve, the boys have some hair raising moments as they battle some of the biggest reptiles in the world.

The girls of Australia Zoo take what they have learned from Steve and tackle the thrashing jaws of the crocs at Lakefield National Park. The team assists in attaching radio transmitters to captured crocs and releasing them back into the wild.

Steve and his family visit Lakefield National Park Croc School. Steve proves his skills at taking on the biggest and angriest of all the wild crocs at the park.

With a birth taking place nearly every other day, the thrilling experience of witnessing a delivery brings drama, joy and sadness to Australia Zoo. A black tiger snake and emu have problem-free deliveries while two baby Tasmanian devils fall ill.

Before adding gorillas, orangutans, and elephants to the zoo, Steve travels to London to learn about the species. At Port Lympne, he feeds chocolate to a black rhino and swims with penguins in Singapore.

Zoos have bad days, too, like when the rock wallabies escape from their enclosure, or when Charlie gets a splinter on the feed ramp. When a mystery virus strikes the kangaroo mob or when the cassowaries fight, it seems nothing will ever go right.

Expansion plans include a 6,000-seat stadium for the daily crocodile feeding demonstrations. Building the structure is fraught with problems and Steve's vision of seven crocodile enclosures and an elaborate canal system may be too ambitious.

The practical jokes and celebrity visits continue at Australia Zoo. This time the sexiest woman in the world visits the Zoo and engages in funny and embarrassing moments with Steve during a photo session, while the Dixie Chicks feed the crocodiles.

Zoo workers rush to save animals in all sorts of predicaments, from a koala stuck in a drain to a sick tiger snake, falcons with damaged wings, and crocodile eggs in jeopardy. Veterinary surgeons work side-by-side with the zoo team.

Steve's trusted team reveals the ropes of the zoo. The girls of Australia Zoo take center stage to show what women can do in the firing line while the boys take us behind the scenes of their roles and how they have become trainee croc hunters.

After trying for over a year, Terri and Steve are pregnant. Bindi declares her love for Jai and her line of clothing, called Bindi Wear, wins first prize in the Australian fashion awards. Robert is born to take on the world and be little brother to Bindi.
