She discovers that Maryann's poor choice in men originates from the days of Henry VIII - when Maryann was Anne Boleyn - and returns to the present just in time to stop an encounter between Maryann and Dr. Dick.

Maryann is shocked when Cybill tells her that she had an affair with a married man - and now wants to rekindle the romance. Maryann reels from Cybill's hypocrisy since Cybill is always advising her not to even consider going back to the cheating Dr. Dick.

Zoey is going to play at a piano recital and needs a new dress. At the department store, Cybill and Zoey disagree on the style of dress Zoey should wear. Zoey favors one with a big, flouncy, feathery thing on one of the shoulders, saying it will distinguish her from the others at the competition.

As a result of menopause, Cybill is having hot flashes, forgetting things and feeling every emotion intensely. These symptoms are compounded when her mother visits and she isn't cast in the sequel for a movie she did ten years ago called "Monday's Child." In an effort to control things, she consults an acupuncturist, eats estrogen-rich foods and keeps a menopause journal.

Cybill lands a role as the sitcom mom on "Steffi's World," a show geared towards kids. Cybill's forgettable character has all the straight lines. The show's star, Jennifer, is not at all like the sweet teen role model she portrays - but is actually a loose cannon.

Cybill endures her new role as a sitcom mom - that is, until her life is shaken up when a 4.0 earthquake rattles the city and inspires her to quit and "follow her bliss."

Meanwhile, Zoey decides to give up her career as a pianist for an office job, while Cybill and Ira try to save her from a life of corporate drudgery.

When Rachel goes into labor and Maryann has an appendicitis attack on the same day, Cybill finds herself stretched thin trying to care for each of them. In a fit of romantic nostalgia, Cybill writes a letter to her first love, Bobby Ray, and is pleasantly surprised when he flies in from Memphis to take her out on a date. After spending a romantic evening with Bobby Ray, Cybill's faith in love is restored - until she realizes that his criminal history extends beyond being just a thief of hearts.
