Down the Grand Canyon

Dan Snow joins up with a team of historians and geologists to recreate John Wesley Powell's 1869 expedition along the Grand Canyon. The journey takes them through the beautiful wilds of north Arizona, where Snow and the crew must traverse Colorado rapids in antique wooden boats. Along the way they learn some fascinating details about the geology of the region, and its Native American past.

Dan Snow and the team of historians and geologists continue their epic adventure down the Colorado River. In the second episode, the crew makes use of the 19th-century surveying equipment that they have brought along on their journey, recording geological data and taking photographs of their surroundings with a period 3D camera.
