Duck Camp Dinners

Chef Jean-Paul Bourgeois and the crew are back at it for season 3 of duck camp dinners. With a historically dry year in Louisiana, the team dodges marsh fires, hunts alligators, and prepares for the opening day of teal season. kwhunting

Follow the DCD crew as they head North to hunt with duck call maker Brad Eldrige. Despite tough hunting conditions brought on by a historic drought in Louisiana, the crew is able to knock down a “Tensas Limit” of wood ducks, mallards, honkers, and squirrels.

With the drought ending and rain headed their way, the crew hunts the final days of the first split in Bayou Black with new friends Jesse Griffiths and Dirk Sorrells.

The second split is here, and the crew decides to try their luck at historic Old Hickory in Lacour, Louisiana. Ducks, deer, and mouth-watering meals are all on the menu.

In this episode the DCD crew heads to the lesser-known but highly productive Red River in Western Louisiana. Despite a slow start to the season, the Red River provides some of the best hunting yet. With mixed bags of woodies, greenheads, and teal. Not to mention a handful of bonus squirrels and wild mushrooms. Shoot straight and come hungry.

Duck hunting in Louisiana is as much about its history as it is about its future. In the season's final days, Jean-Paul learns about Louisiana’s rich waterfowling history, dives into conservation projects throughout the state, and returns to Bayou Black for one last ride.
