High in the hills of Nepal, a poor young woman named Kshemi struggles to care for her ailing mother and her mischievous little brother Tikpe. She is wooed by two suitors, one of them a rich and arrogant drunk, the other a humble but struggling university graduate whom she has fallen in love with. But when tragedy befalls Tikpe, she must face the ultimate choice and trade her dignity to save him.
