Edouard Manet

Manet was a flâneur of the 19th century. At home in the upper bourgeoisie and friends with Zolá and Baudelaire, he increasingly turned from history painting to scenes of urban life. Provocative images of everyday life also appeared to be only half-painted. This impressed those artists who were later called Impressionists. The film tells the story of Manet's eventful period and his work.
