As aftershocks continue to rock the valley, the death toll rises and a mysterious woman arrives steps ahead of an assassin. Maggie and Cole wait in a San Francisco hospital for the outcome of Chase's surgery.

Maggie gets a gun to protect herself against Jeff. Twice-divorced Vicki admits to mother Maggie that she lied about being a famous ballet dancer. A ballistics test indicates that a family member is responsible for shooting Chase.

Jeff adds a new obsession when he returns to the Tuscany Valley, Angela adds a spa to her empire but her vineyard operation is threatened by an unforeseen enemy, and Julia's former husband returns.

Jeff tries to ingratiate himself with Vicki. Richard uncovers Kit's secret and gains an advantage. Tony Cumson tries to reconcile with son Lance. Angela hosts a party for the opening of her spa.

Chase hires a private detective to protect Maggie from Jeff, who now has Vicki under his control. Julia shocks the family with her future plans. Richard and Miss Jones each think they have the upper hand over the other. Lance and Melissa remarry.

Angela reluctantly hosts a wedding reception for Lance and Melissa. Tony Cumson refuses to finance Lance's partnership in Melissa's winery. Vicki learns the truth about Jeff, who forces her to masquerade as her mother, Maggie.

Jeff attacks Chase. Angela tells Peter why she's so preoccupied with Dan Fixx, an ex-convict whom Lance fired from the spa. Cole disapproves of Chase's new partnership with Tony Cumson.

To win Richard's help against the meddlesome Dan Fixx, Kit gives Richard a weapon to use against Angela. Both Cole and Maggie are troubled about Chase. Angela's continued patronage of Dan Fixx causes Emma to consult a psychic.

Maggie's baby's paternity test is inconclusive. Chase and Tony Cumson discover that their vines are withering. Meredith Braxton, Miss Jones' sister and Richard's baby's nanny, begins her seduction of Richard.

Vicki dates Dan Fixx despite her parents' disapproval. Maggie is determined to keep her baby regardless of the consequences. Angela attends a seance staged by Karlotti and gives Lance control of Emma's newspaper holdings.

Chase and Maggie admit that their marriage is troubled. Unsure of Angela's guilt or innocence, Peter remains loyal to Angela. Richard vows to prevent Lance's takeover of the newspaper.

Lance's bid for control of the New Globe goes awry when Richard drives a wedge between him and Melissa. Emma becomes obsessed with Karlotti and his ability to contact Wayne.

Forced by Stafford, Kit lays the groundwork for her fake suicide. Maggie's baby may be born with problems. Meredith hires her former supervisor to rescue Miss Jones. Angela offers Vicki a new job at the spa.

Skyler's apparent suicide casts a pall over Falcon Crest as Peter flees his guilt and Emma comes to terms with Dwayne's death.

Kidnappers want money--and Meredith--in exchange for Richard's baby. Chase gets beaten up while investigating Fixx's background. Lance refuses to declare Melissa mentally incompetent.

Trying to protect Chase, Fixx gets thrown in jail. Angela rejects Peter's proposal to join him in Monte Carlo. Vicki misunderstands when Maggie kisses Richard. The truth about Karlotti doesn't change Emma's feelings for him.

Richard becomes the new distributor of Angela's wines. Vicki and Angela are both concerned about Fixx's preoccupation with Suzanne. For his vendetta against Angela, Richard tries to recruit Peter.

Angela interferes in Vicki and Fixx's romance and accuses Richard of fathering Maggie's unborn child. Melissa's troubled behavior brings a better understanding between Lance and his father.

Maggie delivers prematurely at Falcon Crest. Angela conspires with rich, rude newcomer Roland Saunders to ruin Richard. Tony lies to Lance about Kolinski to protect Kit. Peter disapproves when Angela appears with Saunders at a wine show.

Richard blackmails Kit when he learns of her connection to Saunders, Angela offers financing to Lance and Melissa, Chase acts to stop the Tuscany Land Corp. from buying up the valley.

Maggie decides to give her baby up for adoption so it can escape Angela. Peter forces the truth out of Tony, Chase offers Lance a partnership with him and Tony, and Angela hatches her own scheme for ferreting out the truth about Kit Marlowe.

Dan and Vicki's engagement party flops as the guests of honor try to avoid it, Richard and Peter confront Saunders, Emma introduces a newly adopted son, Maggie shows up looking for the baby she now knows is Chase's and a guest turns up dead in the winery.

Richard finally gets his revenge on Angela, Melissa is a smash as "The Slumming Socialite" at a San Francisco nightclub, and Maggie and Chase reunite to find their baby.

Furious at his involvement with Richard's scheme, Angela leaves Peter. Maggie and Chase search for their adopted son, Gabrielle becomes the head of Chase's wine operations and Melissa continues to hide her nightclub personality.

Chase decides to file for divorce, leaving Richard to plan a retreat for the unhappy Maggie, but a ghost from the past interrupts. Emma's wealth makes Karlotti resigned to the wedding, while Angela uncovers Melissa's secret life.
