Richard goes to prison for his financial misdeeds while cohort Michael Sharpe escapes. Angela hires a private detective to tail Pilar and a battered Emma seeks refuge at the mansion. Richard's attempt to win back his estranged wife has tragic results.

The Channings gather for Maggie's funeral, and a handcuffed Richard reconciles with his mother. Sharpe plots revenge as Richard's testimony destroys his life. Angela postpones her Greek trip to deal with Emma's vicious lover, con artist Charles St. James, who retaliates with lethal force.

Charley's repeated murder attempts have left Angela in a coma, and Pilar uses rape to get a contract. Richard goes after Sharpe with a gun when he realizes his former partner was behind the loss of his children.

Angela's absence cripples Falcon Crest as Emma lingers under Charley's spell, Frank is obsessed with an old flame and a freed Richard is trapped outside the financial world. As Lance and Pilar struggle to keep the company from ruin, Sharpe plots to steal it and destroy Richard.

Devastated by Pilar's betrayal, Lance becomes involved in a Mexican version of Russian roulette. Charley and Ian hatch an evil plan for Christmas as Sydney tries to persuade Emma they're in danger.

A car accident leaves Danny Sharpe near death, and a suspicious Lance joins forces with Richard to prove his father was responsible for the accident. Sharpe and his ex-wife have to decide whether to risk Danny's life on an operation that could restore his ability to walk.

Richard, Lance and Pilar try to prove that Michael Sharpe was responsible for his son Danny's near-fatal accident. Michael flirts with ex-wife Anne, who conspires with Lauren to bring their men together via a dinner party that turns tense as each man awaits a vital phone call.

Richard, Lance and Pilar blackmail Sharpe into turning Falcon Crest over to Richard. Sharpe's indifferent to his financial losses now that he has a chance to regain his family, but when Anne learns of his involvement in Danny's accident, she drops a bombshell. And just as Richard gets his hands on the deed, Angela wakes up.

Richard betrays cronies Lance and Pilar, putting only his name on the deed to Falcon Crest. A devastated Sharpe kicks Danny out and confides in his sister, who remains ambivalent about Richard's proposal. Lance and Pilar discover Angela's awake, missing and forming new alliances to wrest her empire out of Richard's control.

When Lauren tells Danny and Richard the truth, Danny remains loyal to Michael but both men reject him as a son, an outcome that delights Angela since it makes Lauren reconsider her decision to marry Richard. As it becomes clear that his hostile parents have made him an outsider in the valley, Danny becomes increasingly desperate.

Sharpe's hatred of Richard soon overrides their truce and he plots with Angela to stop his sister's wedding to his mortal enemy. As trouble mounts for Richard, Lauren tries to convince him to sell Falcon Crest back to Angela and concentrate on their marriage. Michael reveals a final secret to Danny. Series finale.
