After Rory makes love with her former boyfriend, Dean, she argues bitterly with Lorelai. Meanwhile, despite the gossip about them, Luke and Lorelai seem to be happy together.

Lorelai gives Dean a letter from Rory, but Dean's wife sees it and makes Dean move out. Meanwhile, a parade foils Luke and Lorelai's attempts to find a private spot to say hello.

After Lorelai and Luke spend a romantic night together, their relationship is discussed at the town meeting. Meanwhile, Rory spars with a haughty, rich student named Logan.

Rory asks Dean if he left his wife because Lindsay found Rory's letter. Lorelai and Sookie manage Jackson's campaign for town selectman when he runs against Taylor.

When Luke and Lorelai go on a double date with Rory and Dean, Luke is unable to disguise the fact that he thinks Dean isn't good enough for Rory.

Sookie becomes annoyed when an author and reporter show up in the Dragonfly Inn's dining room but refuse to order any food. Rory uncovers a secret society to which Logan belongs.

Logan takes Rory to an event staged by his secret society, and she participates. Meanwhile, when Emily discovers that Lorelai is dating Luke, she insists he come to dinner.

When Emily and Richard give a party to introduce Rory to their Yale alumni friends, their ulterior motive soon becomes obvious. Luke and Lorelai's romantic evening is interrupted.

Emily dashes Lorelai and Rory's hopes for a reconciliation between her and Richard. Meanwhile, Lorelai invites Christopher for lunch at the inn.

The prospective Yale applicant who Rory hosts runs off to party, leaving Rory to deal with Logan's elaborate practical jokes. Meanwhile, Lorelai and Luke have their first argument.

Wanting to make peace with Rory, Christopher visits her at Yale. Meanwhile, Emily and Richard are briefly reunited when they rescue a lost dog.

Rory is disappointed when Logan doesn't invite her to be his date at a book-signing party hosted by his father. Emily warns Christopher that Lorelai and Luke are getting serious.

Lorelai and Rory feel obligated to give Emily a bachelorette party before she and Richard renew their vows. At the ceremony, Rory tells Logan she wants a relationship with him.

After the disastrous scene at her parents' marriage recommitment ceremony, Lorelai begs Luke not to give up on their relationship. However, Luke decides that he needs time alone.

Knowing that Lorelai is the costume designer for the elementary school play, Luke agrees to build sets in hopes of seeing her. Rory admits to Marty that she really likes Logan.

Rory confronts Emily for interfering in Lorelai's love life. Miserable without Lorelai, Luke's dark mood causes him to throw complaining customers out of the diner.

Rory regrets her agreement with Logan to date other people. Now that Lorelai and Luke are reunited, Emily can't understand why Lorelai still refuses to come to Friday night dinner.

When Stars Hollow's oldest resident dies and leaves his house to the town, Luke has an ulterior motive for volunteering to help turn the house into a temporary museum.

Rory is shocked by Logan's parents' reaction to their relationship. Meanwhile, when Sookie is placed on bed rest, Lorelai asks Luke to fill in as chef at the Dragonfly Inn.

Wanting to make a good impression, Rory learns everything she can about Logan's father before starting as an intern at one of his newspapers. Lorelai gets an interesting job offer.

Rory is surprised by the performance review she receives at the newspaper from Logan's father, Mitchum Huntzberger. Lorelai worries about Emily's reaction to a magazine article.

After spending a night of reckless behavior with Logan, Rory is rescued by her mother. But Lorelai is shocked to hear her daughter's plans for the future.
