Oliver and Lisa play host to four children from the city, who find themselves in Hooterville as part of a rural exposure program. The kids learn how to milk the cow, pick vegetables, plant seeds, and share sleeping quarters with four-legged friends.

Little Lori Baker, who after coming to stay with the Douglases on a rural experience program, is staying on at the Douglas farm. This city girl, like Oliver, has found that she loves the country life! Lisa decides to throw Lori a welcome party.

Eb is jealous and moves out because Lisa and Oliver shower a little visitor with gifts, while Oliver continues to refuse to buy Eb a new car. But Eb soon finds living away from the Douglas family is more expensive and difficult that he expected.

When a gangster who passes as Oliver's doppelganger arrives in town with his wife and partner to hide out from the law, a rumor spreads that Oliver is a cheat. Oliver seeks to save his good name, and Lisa tries figure out which Oliver is Oliver!

Lisa tells a rather fanciful version of how she met and fell in love with Oliver. The Douglases' house guest, little Lori Baker from the city, is all ears. The tale begins with how Lisa's father, the king, was exiled, causing Lisa to flee to Paris.

The residents of Hooterville assume that Oliver Douglas must be broke when Lisa is spotted looking for work and standing in line at the soup kitchen. But assumptions in this town, even logical ones, are bound to be wrong.

There is the old adage that warns never to discuss politics with your spouse... but what if you are both running for the same office?! That predicament comes true when Oliver and Lisa face each other in the Hooterville mayoral election.

Lisa and Oliver try to sort out of the troubles of fools in love. The problems begin when Eb invites both his girlfriend and another young woman to the same dance, while Arnold the pig falls for not one, but two attractive bovines.

Oliver is having a tough time. He has no one to help him pick the apples from his orchard, and he's promised to teach Lisa how to drive. The neighbors are all injured from assisting other harvests, and Lisa has a run-in with a sheriff.

Eb feels the time is right to settle down and marry Darlene. However, he has nowhere near the money it will take to make a down payment on a house. With the help of the Douglases, who have given him two acres of land, Eb applies for a loan.

Eb believes he has found his destiny when an accounting course he has enrolled in turns out to be acting workshop. All the world's a stage. Ed dives into acting and turns every simple interaction at the Douglas farm into a starring role.

After Lisa attends a Women's Liberation League meeting, she gives Oliver a scolding for denying her equal rights and demands to swap chores. While Lisa does a stellar job at Oliver's work, Oliver's attempts at hers leave something to be desired.

Oliver refuses to take Lisa to New York City to attend the wedding anniversary of an old friend. Meanwhile, Eb, always up to something, has a new invisible friend named Charlie. To get her way, Lisa introduces her own invisible friend... Natasha.

Lisa gives the financially-challenged Eb her engagement ring to present to Darlene, his longtime sweetheart, so that he can pop the question. The ring is reportedly valued at $2,000, however, when Darlene's father has it appraised, it's a shocker.

The Douglases are offered a free paint job on their house and barn so long as they allow the paint company free advertising on their barn wall. Meanwhile, Lisa tries to make spaghetti for Oliver's upcoming birthday. Will it prove im-pasta-ble?

Lisa hosts the son of WWII hero Drobny, and all of Hooterville gets excited in anticipation of a surge of tourists. Trouble is, this hero was a duck, as is his son. Oliver tried to warn everyone they were making too much fuss over feathers.

Young lovers Eb and Darlene are just weeks away from their wedding day, but they must choose the marriage venue. It's hard to decide between a church and a car wash. At least it is for Eb, who is still looking for a way to pay for it all.

While staying with the Douglases, Arnold the Pig witnesses a bank robbery when he goes with the Douglases on an errand in Pixley. When Lisa asks him to describe the two robbers, Arnold, reliving the moment, loses his voice from fear.

Lisa becomes a local marvel when she introduces a cleaning product to the townsfolk that removes any and all stains, thanks to her Uncle Boris's recipe. When Mr. Haney gets wind of the miracle product, he has it analyzed and discovers Lisa's secret.

The governor's state of the state address announces the state of the state is bankrupt. In protest of a 52% tax hike, Hooterville prepares to secede. Their plan? To become an independent monarchy with Oliver Douglas as their king.

Lisa worries about Drobny the duck when the water fowl stops eating and sleeping and suffers headaches. Eb suggests the duck needs a duck girlfriend. Lisa agrees and goes about town trying to the right partner for Drobny.

Oliver refuses to take Lisa to the annual Carpenter's Ball because he thinks the attendees are too eccentric for his liking. But Lisa has her own motives to attend. She is trying to get a romance sparked between two local singles.

Oliver repairs the porch by placing new wood over the old. Oddball Hank Kimball comes along and removes the wood, falling through the resulting hole. Having injured his foot, Lisa invites Kimball into their home to recuperate, driving Oliver mad.

When Oliver decides to attend night school and enrolls in a farming class, Lisa does the same, taking psychology. Before long, many of the residents of Hooterville are lining up for appointments with the eminent Dr. Lisa.
