While staying with the Douglases, Arnold the Pig witnesses a bank robbery when he goes with the Douglases on an errand in Pixley. When Lisa asks him to describe the two robbers, Arnold, reliving the moment, loses his voice from fear.

Lisa becomes a local marvel when she introduces a cleaning product to the townsfolk that removes any and all stains, thanks to her Uncle Boris's recipe. When Mr. Haney gets wind of the miracle product, he has it analyzed and discovers Lisa's secret.

The governor's state of the state address announces the state of the state is bankrupt. In protest of a 52% tax hike, Hooterville prepares to secede. Their plan? To become an independent monarchy with Oliver Douglas as their king.

Lisa worries about Drobny the duck when the water fowl stops eating and sleeping and suffers headaches. Eb suggests the duck needs a duck girlfriend. Lisa agrees and goes about town trying to the right partner for Drobny.

Oliver refuses to take Lisa to the annual Carpenter's Ball because he thinks the attendees are too eccentric for his liking. But Lisa has her own motives to attend. She is trying to get a romance sparked between two local singles.

Oliver repairs the porch by placing new wood over the old. Oddball Hank Kimball comes along and removes the wood, falling through the resulting hole. Having injured his foot, Lisa invites Kimball into their home to recuperate, driving Oliver mad.

When Oliver decides to attend night school and enrolls in a farming class, Lisa does the same, taking psychology. Before long, many of the residents of Hooterville are lining up for appointments with the eminent Dr. Lisa.
