Kurt Wallander has achieved his life's dream – buying a house by the sea. In the evenings, he takes his Labrador dog Jussi on long strolls. Suddenly, a heavy explosion ruptures the peace and quiet.

A six-year-old boy disappears without a trace from nursery. Everyone in Ystad is soon engaged in the search for the boy. The clues seem to point police towards a man previously convicted of paedophilia.

A motorcyclist is found murdered and clues lead the police to the local bikers' club. It turns out that the club uses motorcycle couriers to smuggle narcotics across the Öresund bridge to Denmark.

Ystad is hit by a wave of burglaries. A group of neighbours take matters into their own hands by guarding the streets at night, and one night they spot a suspicious person entering a house.

A Russian cellist is subject to a bomb attack following a performance in Ystad. The woman is a crown witness in a murder prosecution against a member of the Russian mafia.

A priest is found shot outside a hostel in what looks like an attempted murder. The priest, believed to be able to identify the shooter, fights for his life in the hospital.

Ystad is plagued by several spectacular robberies of security vans. On one occasion, police cadets Isabelle and Pontus are at the crime scene. They try to hunt down the robbers, but instead Pontus is captured.

A sniper is terrorising Ystad. The victims are all connected to the robbery of a jewellery store. Wallander discovers that the events are linked to a criminal organisation.

A choir gives a performance in a country church. Afterwards, choir member Miranda Dahno disappears. Initially, it seems like Miranda has left of her own free will, but clues soon point in the opposite direction.

When a beach house burns to the ground following a gas explosion, a man and a woman are found dead and the police suspect murder by arson.

The Bräda cider factory hosts a business dinner, during which the company’s CEO is killed. Wallander soon realises that money is involved and that people are prepared to kill again to hurt the company.

A woman is found dead in her flat and clues point to the victim’s ex-boyfriend, Fabian. During the investigation, however, Pontus realise that Isabel carries a dark secret from her past, a secret connected to the case.

A little girl is hiding somewhere in Ystad. She has seen something terrible and must be silent. Meanwhile, a trafficking trial commences and Wallander and the prosecutor Katarina Ahlsell receive death threats.
