A group of dentist clinic workers goes to a popular escape-room game. Pavel Nikolaev is lost in the dark labyrinths. The operator finds him dead, with an ax in his back. Nikolaev had a secret relationship with the clinic's manager Larisa Bezruchko. Larisa's husband, Mikhail, had previously suspected his wife of treason. But he claims to have found out the truth only after the game.

In a cafe, a women finds a finger in her croissant, and the murdered owner of a bakery, Ilya Seleznev, is later discovered in a forest. There is no finger on his hand. On the knife with which he was stabbed are fingerprints of a baker Ivan Samoilenko whom Seleznev fired that day. Samoilenko denies being the murderer and claims that the waitress Katya also used that knife.

Several former jail prisoners are murdered in the city. The killings are made with a homemade hunting knife. The team supposes that the killer was doing time with his victims, everyone who had a conflict with them in the colony falls under suspicion, but there is no direct evidence. The only lead is the knife, perhaps its maker will remember who ordered it.
