Horse Rescue Heroes

This episode goes back to the very beginning of Horse Plus Humane Society. Tawnee Preisner talks about her life as a child, her learning disabilities and the struggles she faced after a traumatic and life changing horse accident as a young girl, meeting & falling in love with her future husband at the age of 9 years old and starting Horse Plus Humane Society at the age of 19.

The Horse Rescue Heroes of Horse Plus Humane Society travel to Wisconsin to meet one of the Full Circle of Life Grant Finalists, Pony Tales Rescue and Rehab.

This episode follows the Rescue Heroes of Horse Plus Humane Society and Pony Tales Rescue and Rehab as they attempt to capture 2 loose horses in totally different surroundings. One loose horse was roaming on thousands of acres of hunting land, while the other was wandering a rural neighborhood drinking from swimming pools, eating gardens, and walking across the road in the middle of the night.

The Bootcamp and Mentoring of the Pony Tales Rescue and Rehab team continues at Horse Plus Humane Society shelter in Hohenwald, TN. In this episode, the Rescue Heroes hold an adoption event where horses were adopted in amazing homes. A rain shower and horse accident couldn't put a damper on the successful day, and every challenge was met with grit and perseverance.

Horse Rescue Heroes Jason and Tawnee take Cindy of Pony Tales Rescue and Rehab to an auction where over 100 horses are sold to the highest bidder, no matter who it is. A surprise donation enabled them to save a lot of horses from slaughter. For the first time ever our team was allowed to bring a film crew into an auction where horses are sold for slaughter.

53 horses were saved at the auction where horses are sold to slaughter, and the exhausted rescue team transports them to the shelter where they are individually evaluated by the veterinarian, dewormed, vaccinated, and settled into quarantine for 30 days.

Horse Plus Humane Society Rescue Heroes travel to Wisconsin to assist and mentor Pony Tales during a Low Cost Horse Surrender event. The snow and ice couldn't dampen the spirits of all the heroes that helped make the event a huge success.

In this final episode of Horse Rescue Heroes, Season 1, the Heroes of Horse Plus Humane Society visit Pony Tales Rescue and Rehab one year after the mentoring and grant to check in and see how they are really doing long term. The results prove that a Full Circle of Life Horse Shelter not only works, but works tremendously well.
