Germany had very few geopolitical allies leading into World War II. For various reasons, these alliances were doomed to fail from the outset, and Germany would ultimately pay dearly for the partnerships they forged with the Axis Powers.

As German resources began to run thin as the War progressed, Hitler and Goebbels promoted Wonder Weapons as a way to pave a new path towards victory. This blind belief in technology soon became a critical drag on the Nazi war effort.

Early victories in World War II injected Hitler with a precipitous sense of over-confidence that was eventually tested and proven vulnerable, and as time would further reveal, his hubris and avarice ultimately led to Germany's defeat.
