Limping awkwardly towards us we are greeted by the Mummy. He speaks enchantingly of his life before death, and how he became the monster that he is. We also learn how he became a major film star.

Deep in the waters of Loch Ness lies Nessie, otherwise known as the Loch Ness monster. Famous in books and films, we get a rare sighting of this monster who tells us about her life in the mysterious depths of the loch, and also what she really looks like.

With a bolt of lightning and a flash of thunder, Dracula appears from hiding to tell us his unearthly tale. Unable to stand daylight, he rests in his coffin during the day, only appearing by night in the guise of a bat. This famous monster is out to get your blood.

Sitting and watching a depiction of himself in a Hollywood film, Frankenstein's monster int tells his side of the story. Put together with bits of bones, arms and eyeballs, this rugged creature was brought to life in a rather unusual way.
5. Bunyip

Sneaking out from behind a tree, we meet Bunyip, a very shy vegetarian monster. Hailing from Australia, this abnormal looking creature likes to hang out around rivers and pools. He also has the unique method of hugging his predators when attacked.

Hidden well below a volcano we encounter three one-eyed giants known as the Cyclops Brothers. These bad tempered giants have been around since the Ancient Greek times, and spend their time making weapons for the Olympians'. Next time you see a smoking volcano, you can be sure these three creatures are hard at work.

As we wake her from her sleep, the Dragon reluctantly introduces herself. This old and wise monster is the ultimate bringer of terror from the skies. And beware; she is very hungry, so make sure you have your cows locked up.

Floating around the moonlit Irish countryside we happen across a Banshee. Known for her crying and wailing, this monster is never welcome at anyone's door. However she insists she is just trying to warn people of their impending doom. Just make sure you don't pick up her comb.

With her shadow looming over a child as he sleeps, the Boogieman appears to tell us her story. This once previously feared and worshipped monster has been reduced to rags after losing her powers. Now- can she even frighten children?

Situated in the Himalayan Mountains is a brightly lit cave where the Yeti lives. A believer in peace, this fearsome looking monster actually runs a Mountain Rescue Service. Having been pursued for years by climbers, hunters and expeditions, all this monster wants is to be left alone.

Chilling out on a rock above the sea is the very glamorous Mermaid. Not believing she is a monster, she glides beneath the ocean telling us her unique characteristics. Is it really just bad luck that ships sink when they are around her? Perhaps she is too obsessed with her fame and glamour to really notice.

The Headless Horseman gallops his phantom horse through the Hudson Valley. Reduced to being a tourist attraction, he remembers the glory days when everybody was scared of him, and nothing got in his way. But whatever you do, don't call this monster a fairy.

Once pretty girl turned monster Medusa, from thefamous Gorgon family tells about growing up in the ancient times, and how life changed for her when she went to Temple school. Try not to look this monster in the face.

Resting beneath the ocean is the giant whale Moby Dick. Originating in a novel, this world famous creature has reason to be paranoid! His biggest enemy, Captain Ahab, is out to get his blood. But this giant monster of the seas is not be to messed with.

Lurking about in a boggy field in Ireland, we are searching for a small Irish man known as a Leprechaun. You have been warned though; these little creatures are very mean and are devious tricksters. See if you can spot his pot of gold.

Ready for a night of haunting, we stumble across Blackshuck, a black hairy dog found in the British Isles. This dog isn't fussy, he will haunt wherever he finds spooky. Believed to be the inspiration for a Sherlock Holmes story, this creature also claims he protects lone women walking in the night. Perhaps it's wise not to look into his fiery gaze.

With the clap of her wings, the Thunderbird of North America brings thunder to the valleys of Beaver Prairie. This supernatural bird also has the ability to pull clouds together to make rain. A protector of the people, this colourful bird has immense power and strength- although these days, she hasn't got many people to protect.

In the middle of having his bath, we meet the JerseyDevil, a very shy monster with a strange body. Since people are always trying to capture him, he prefers to live in the remote forests of New Jersey. He's not happy being labelled a monster, and is frightened that his home may become a tourist attraction.

Chilling out in an underground cave in Norway are two Trolls. These clumsy, clueless monsters have a rather unusual appetite: eyeballs for supper is not everyone's cup of tea. Because sunlight and lightning turn them to stone, they stay inside their cave all day, but are they too stupid to remember why?

20. Witch
Sporting her signature black dress and pointy hat, meet the Witch. Her home is what we expect; so is her black cat, her cauldron and of course her mode of transport - the broomstick. She explains why witches have been among the most famous and feared monsters of all time.

Roaming around the Altai Mountains of Southern Mongolia is the fame seeking wannabe missing link- Almas. She dreams of world domination, and does not favour scientists who don't acknowledge her. Somebody needs to get this monster an agent to put her out of her misery.

Meet the Basilisk, known as the King of the Serpents. From an egg laid by a seven year old rooster- (ouch!) and hatched by a toad, this funny looking creature was always a bringer of doom. Basilisk, though, is adamant that he is simply a victim of his own nature. If you like him- make sure he doesn't look at himself in the mirror.

Enter the command centre of Capitol buildings Washington USA and meet the DC Demon Cat, he's been expecting you. This spooky feline has only been sighted at important times in American History. Don't be fooled by his innocent pusscat looks, this kitty is nobody's pet.

A very proud mother of little monsters, Echidna is a fiery Greek goddess with a long slithery tail. Echidna loves her family, and introduces us to her rambunctious, monstrous brood and her family wall of fame!
