Indian Ocean with Simon Reeve

After joining the fight against poachers in South Africa, Simon Reeve swims with sharks, meets the refugees sheltered in a luxury beachfront hotel and travels on a container ship fortified against the constant threat of pirates as he sails to Zanzibar.

Simon Reeve visits the tropical islands of Madagascar, Mauritius and the Seychelles. Amid the paradise of coral reefs and jungles full of spectacular wildlife, Simon witnesses some of the threats to the Ocean, including overpopulation and piracy.

As Simon Reeve travels to Mogadishu, the war-torn capital of Somalia, he visits the beautiful Tana Delta of Mombasa, Kenya, and meets villagers facing eviction from the area. Then, Simon travels with Ugandan soldiers from the African peace-keeping force.

Simon Reeve ventures the remote and otherworldly Musandam peninsula on the Strait of Hormuz. His journey takes him to Mumbai, India, the ocean's largest port, before he heads to the Maldives and its beautiful collection of tropical coral islands.

While in Sri Lanka, Simon Reeve visits the scenes of vicious battles between the Tamil minority fighters and the Sri Lankan army. Then, Simon investigates one of the ocean's fastest growing industries and witnesses huge tankers being broken up for scrap.

In Indonesia, Simon Reeve goes on a patrol with the local vice and virtue squad and investigates the shocking trade in exotic pets. Then, Simon joins a family of seaweed farmers in Bali and visits the unspoiled wilderness of Australia.
