When Aaron's imaginary friend "Sanders" comes back, Stephanie is worried that she is spending too much time working. After reading up on the subject, Stephanie makes sure Sanders feels welcomed, until he crosses the line.

Stephanie and Charlie seek revenge against their neighbors for ruining the kids' garden. When the rest of the family follow their lead, they realize they need to be the bigger people, but the neighbors don't make it easy.

Stephanie and Charlie discover that Gabby has had a secret boyfriend, breaking Charlie's no dating rule. When they meet the boy, they are not impressed with the bad influence he has on their kids.

Stephanie feels unneeded when all of the kids have their own plans and ditch her on Halloween. Meanwhile, Charlie tries to maintain his perfect rating as the best house in the neighborhood.

Aaron gets in trouble after calling his teacher "Doofus", a nickname he learned from Stephanie who knew his teacher years ago. Meanwhile, James tries to get out of history homework by making his teacher and Charlie new friends.

James gets recruited by a professional video gaming team, but finds out that his dream isn't all it's cracked up to be, so Stephanie and Charlie go to great lengths to get him out of his contract.

In order to help Aaron with his fear of the dentist, Stephanie agrees to get checked out as well, despite being afraid herself. When she discovers their new dentist is someone from her past, she becomes even more scared.

James becomes part of the popular crowd when he is mistaken for a bad boy. When Stephanie lectures him on doing the right thing and tattling on one of his new friends, James is conflicted.

Stephanie and Charlie plan a kid-free weekend in New York, only to find that Aaron has stowed away in their car. Meanwhile, both James and Gabby have plans for what to do with the empty house while their parents are away.

Stephanie pretends there are no plans for Gabby's sixteenth birthday while she secretly plans a surprise party, but when she trusts Maggie with the invitations, things take an unexpected turn.

After Aaron describes Stephanie as a "yelly monster" when she is trying to get the family ready in the morning, Stephanie tries to do better, but things go from crazy to crazier.

Stephanie's neighbor, Eunice, is able to get Gabby, James, and Aaron to do all the things that Stephanie cannot get them to do by using the "mom pyramid", but Stephanie worries what it may be doing to her kids.

Gabby gets asked to the prom by Noah, but is worried about fitting in at the after party. Stephanie and Charlie get a little too overprotective when they find out the kids are throwing a hotel party afterwards.

Stephanie is worried she is turning into Maggie after reacting to Gabby's desire to get a tattoo. In an effort to prove otherwise, she ends up pushing Gabby into wanting to get one even more.

Stephanie is the one shaken up after she takes Gabby to see her first scary movie against Charlie's wishes. James snuck into the same movie with Aaron and uses Stephanie's fears to convince her their house is haunted.
