Inui

Inui and her friends are strolling along the seashore when they see a distant iceberg. She remarks that she has always wanted to explore an iceberg. They row to the iceberg and find a way into it. The transparent iceberg allows them to explore the undersea world without getting wet.

Inui longs to see a pole star fairy and her friends are determined to bring that about whatever it takes. Lady P, who is the smallest, will dress in a sparkly tutu with fake wings manufactured by Crackpot and Grouchy. Then Whitney Whale, hiding behind an iceberg, will launch the wannabe fairy into the air with a flick of her massive tail.

Inui and her friends are celebrating 'Opposite Day' where everyone does the opposite of what they would normally do. Crackpot has forgotten what day it is and is confused by his pals' behaviour. "Night-night!" says Inui early in the morning. They all walk backwards.

When Whitney Whale returns from her holidays she brings gifts for Inui and her friends. They're irritated with the presents until Inui's present - a sombrero - reveals a little stowaway, an amardillo. Diego is a loud, gregarious character who wants to sing, dance and play the maracas. At the North Pole?

Inui, Crackpot and Grouchy discover what they believe is a treasure map. They equip themselves with tools and set out on a treasure hunt that ends in disappointment. The disappointed group is met by Lady P. She takes the crumpled sheet of paper and announces that it is a rough drawing for Crackpot's caribou day surprise.

Johnny, a competitive weasel challenges Inui and her friends to all sorts of activities to prove to them that 'weasels are best'. Charming and clever Johnny forces everyone into a competition they are not made for. He beats them in running, jumping and throwing. But there's one thing he isn't good at.

Grouchy is suffering from insomnia and his chums try to help him to fall asleep. Crackpot circles in front of his friend pretending to be a flock of sheep, baaing as he does so. Our friends find a sleeping spot out of the sun's glare. Inui sings a lullaby. All their attempts to send Grouchy to sleep are a failure.

Sasha the seal wants to demonstrate to Inui and friends that he can break the North Pole Hole-Jumping record. In mid-air he almost collides with Albert only to miss the last hole. What's worse, Sasha hurts his flipper. His dream cannot come true. But Inui knows how he can break the record despite the sporting injury - with a little help from his friends.

Inui and her friends go to a beach where they find a football. Goalie Crackpot catches all his friends' penalties. An unnerved Grouchy kicks the ball harder before hitting a Walrus. The disgruntled Walrus confiscates the ball and tells them to clear off his beach. But he cannot finish his phrase as he moans. The territorial Walrus is in dental distress.

It's the coldest day ever and Inui has run out of firewood for the oven. That's when she and Grouchy and Crackpot remember Chilly Peak Mountain. The arctic foxes who live there are delighted to see Inui and her friends again. Their place is warm because there is a volcano beneath it. Inui and her friends descend to explore the source of the micro climate.

Crackpot accidentally swallows a shooting star. At first he thinks having a luminous nose is fun. However, before long Crackpot is disillusioned with his shining snout and sets off to find his friends. Maybe they can solve his problem. Grouchy shakes him upside down and the lightbeams shine out of the tips of Crackpot's antlers.

Sasha announces that Whitney Whale will give a concert and asks if Inui and her friends would like to attend. The problem is her song can only be heard underwater. On the beach there is enough flotsam and jetsam to build listening devices. They try it out on Sasha and it works!

When Lady P borrows Inui's umbrella she promises to look after it. She has hardly left the igloo when a sudden gust of wind lifts her off her feet in series of bunny hops that take her up a nearby snowy hill. Lady P catches her breath before a stronger gust pitches her into the open umbrella and propels it downhill.

Grouchy wakes up covered in spots. Is he ill? He hurries to see Crackpot to ask for his help. The kindly caribou tells his friend to take his mind off things. Grouchy hurries off to get a second opinion from Lady P. She hands Grouchy a mug of something and tells him to drink it. Grouchy announces that he wants a third opinion.

Inui and her friends want to ski. Crackpot accidentally propels the unsuspecting Inui down a ski-run. Her friends glimpse the fast moving Inui cresting the next hill - and then disappearing out of view. Inui glides out onto the glittering flank of a glacier and before she can avoid it she tumbles headfirst into a deep crevasse.

Inui and her friends meet Walter, a young, sensitive musk ox who has become separated from his herd and they offer to take him back to the tundra where his family lives. Not an easy task as Walter is a bit of a scaredy-cat. He takes the igloo for an ox-trap and reacts nervously to unknown sounds. On the way to his homeland he refuses to cross a knee-deep river.

A winding trail leads up the mountain. Inui instructs Walter not to look down. But the ox can't resist taking a peek into the abyss and stops. The quick thinking Grouchy steers Walter behind the sledge screening his view of the drop beside them. Later the enourmous ox shields the others from a blizzard and even saves Inui and Lady when they slither over the edge of a precipice.

Our friends all reach Buttercup Valley. Walter is about to be reunited with his family when a fierce looking ox bars his way. This is Wilbur, the neighbourhood bully. He challenges Walter to butting heads; musk ox style. Seeing that Walter wants to avoid the fight, Grouchy shows him a few tricks.

Crackpot is determined to hug five of his friends in order to win a chocolate cake offered by Lady P if he succeeds. Easier said than done! Inui, who has to make sure everything is on the level, says that the first three hugs count but the remaining two hugs are difficult to achieve, partly because hugging snowmen and yourself is against the rules.

When a bank of fog rolls in from the sea Inui and her friends find shelter in a spooky place. They hear strange noises and glimpse shadowed forms. A log book tells them that they are on an old polar expedition ship that was abandoned by explorers more than 100 years ago. This is confirmed by lemmings who finally come out of hiding.

When Albert announces that the thaw has created a unique waterfall at Crystal Creek Inui and her friends pack too many things for an overnight boat trip. They quarrel about what to leave behind and set off with still too many belongings that make rowing quite exhausting. Eventually they reach their destination in time to enjoy the breathtaking waterfall in the light of the full moon.

Inui and her friends encounter Walruses Wally and Olly whilst on a camping trip. Whatever they do - pitch up a tent, inflate a sleeping mattress, prepare breakfast - the walruses say: "You're doing it all wrong!". The know-it-alls even tell them exactly when all campers take a siesta, - only to wake Inui and her friends with the thunderous thrum of their musical instruments.

Grouchy isn't his usual grumpy self. He's much worse. He's happy! His friends agree: there's definitely something amiss. They decide to follow the perplexing polar bear. When they peep over the top of a snow bank they see Grouchy giggling with a Girls Polar Bear! Inui and the others discuss Grouchy's new situation whilst sledging down the hill.

When Lady P falls asleep in plummeting temperatures she accidentally becomes stuck on the ice. The panic-stricken penguin calls for help and one by one her friends come to her aid. Unfortunately all their efforts are in vain. Inui asks Whitney to help them free Lady.
